Identifying The Driving Force Of Migration And its Effects

The movement of people from rural to urban settlement within the same country has been a dominant aspect of migration since time immemorial but the migration trend took a different turn in the last two decades.

That was when the level of International migration started to grow rapidly as can be deciphered from the bimonthly journals that are usually released by International Organisation For Migration (IOM).

This research work focuses on "Identifying the driving force of migration and its unintended effect on migrants", the host country, and the home country of migrants. The writeup is research-driven and each conclusion was reached based on the outcome of diligently sourced primary and secondary data.

It should also be noted that the widespread of Covid19 across different countries of the world in addition to the high rate of racism, overcrowding, and a list of various economic issues that are trending globally are already traced to be deeply rooted in migration.

All the what, how, why, and where are well embedded in this research work as it relates to the subject matter.

INTRODUCTION

We currently live in an era where globalization and the friendly international relation which exists between different countries of the world is making it easier for individuals to draw their travel plan and subsequently migrate from one part of the world to the other.

First thing first - Let's get a good grasp of the concept of migration as it relates to this post? As simple as this may look, the conceptual view of migration is broad and need to be narrowed down.

A journal released by the Population Association of South Africa in 1999 highlighted that any attempt made towards the definition of migration always leads to further explanation. This is because migration revolves around an activity that does not have a fixed yardstick.

As you would expect, migration has already been defined by many authors but while some of the journals, statistics, and research materials delivered on the topic of migration defined migration as the urban-rural movement within a particular country, others focused on the movement of people from one country to another.

For the sake of this research work, our focus on migration is based on how it relates to the movement of people from one country to another.

The watchword of Migrants and Prospective Migrants

Over time, a fair share of migrants that moved to America, Europe, Australia, and the top-tier Asian countries have been quite specific about their "mission''. They all find ways to leave their home country legally or otherwise and embark on a mission of pride - to attain financial freedom and have a better life. That's just the point but it's a fair one.

The article released by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) on October 21, 2019, as a result of their interview with 1,970 migrants from 39 African countries across 13 European nations shows that 78% of these migrants were sending money back to their families in their home country.

You would expect that anyone that is planning to migrate would opt for a destination where he would be embraced and welcomed like a king.

It won't hurt to know that there is hardly any place like that but what these migrants had in mind is that whenever the desirable becomes unattainable, any attainable option becomes desirable.

Many migrants know that the beginning of a new life in a new place around new people would not be as easy as placing butter on bread but life in their home country is not any different so, they would outrightly walk the same path again.

With all that we are seeing, the only question that needs to be asked is; Why do people migrate? What are the possible effects of migration?

Be rest assured that all these and much more would be unraveled in the next part of this research work.

Thanks for not missing any full-stop or comma

There is migration, immigration and emmigration. Immigration is movement into a country. Emmigration is movement out of a country. The term "migration" is used for birds and they only have been using it for people between countries in the last ten years.

Bombing planes and drones flying over head of your children's schools creates a huge incentive for emmigration. You can hardly blame the Iranians for moving into Vancouver given they were given the chance and the need by NATO. The others immigrate for the economic opportunities of jobs and money. The result is much higher rent prices or home prices in the short term. The government subsidized that refugees could settle in the place with the worst housing shortage. This feels like free money for home owners and is definitely higher income for those who rent out. Perhaps the Prime Minister owns property in that area. Building projects should bring relief down the road of course but in the mean time one can live better elsewhere but with less pay.

Then there are social problems in Canada which ought to make people think twice about moving there if they have better options.

The concept of migration is a very complex one that needs to be observed closely - after all, people are always moving around from one place to another.

Looking at it from an international perspective is also a recurrent thing because globalisation have already opened up the inter boundary movement between countries

Well Done
