Comprehension: Obi, the brilliant child.

This is Obi, he is eight years old and the only male child of his father.
His father is a trader and rarely stays at home.
As soon as Obi heard his father's bicycle horn outside the compound, he abandoned the wooden spectacles he was making and rushed to the gate.
Mazi Laza had landed but had not yet brought his bicycle to a standstill.
"Papa, I passed! I came first in the whole class! Ogechukwu failed." He said all these in a single breath.
By the time Mazi had balanced his bicycle on the metal stand, Obi had already clinched to his father who bent to his height to congratulate him.
"What did you say?" He asked, "I came first, Obi retorted.
The proud father lifted his son to his eye level and lowered him in his feet. Obi always enjoyed this so Mazi threw him him and caught him twice before he confessed that the boy was growing too big for this exercise known to them.
"So it is book, book, book that is inside that big head afterall?" He teased him proudly.
