Development of academic skills and competencies in our students / A teacher-student challenge
As teachers we must always have as our main objective to encourage our students to develop their best academic skills in order to achieve effective and quality learning, but the student's attitude is worth a lot, and in that, we must be attentive because only in this way we will capture their attention or interest in learning.
The learning of our students is not only linked to the fact of their intrinsic or natural intellectual capacity, but to the proper way of being able to absorb or grasp all those demands of a certain activity to be developed, and we must achieve this by making them understand the proper use of the means available for such action, since sometimes the misuse of the available tools makes the proposed objective is not carried out.
Undoubtedly, we always want the student to achieve effective learning, and for this, if necessary, we must generate changes in their way of acquiring knowledge, therefore, they must know what their capabilities are, and also, what strategies can be implemented to adapt in the best way to the different situations that are presented to them in an educational way, and this, in the end should be reflected towards any way of obtaining some learning in any of their daily activities.
Although most of the learning of the human being is obtained by his own effort, however, it will always be necessary to be able to guide them in the best possible way because in this way the road to efficient learning will be much shorter, therefore, we can say that with the teamwork between educator and student will be able to build essential study habits for proper academic behavior of students and consequently in all aspects of their lives.

The work of the teacher is very important, because it is an art how the information is brought to the learner so that it is captured in the best way and their attitude towards their learning is much more effective.
The abilities and skills are important to recognize, although it is up to each being to develop them according to their nature and individuality.
They may have the same chronological age but their mental age may not be in accordance with it.
El trabajo del docente es mucha importancia, porque es un arte la forma como se lleva la información al educando para que sea captada de la mejor manera y su actitud hacia su aprendizaje sea mucho más efectivo.
Las habilidades y destrezas son importantes reconocerlas, aunque es de cada ser la forma como la van desarrollando de acuerdo a su naturaleza y su individualidad.
Pueden tener la misma edad cronológica pero su edad pero su edad mental puede que no esté acorde con ella.

Hi! I'm new here and I find this very interesting.
I teach here in the Philippines and having this ongoing health crisis made a gigantic change on how teaching and reaching the students in a manner that somehow, I can assure to myself that they are learning something. Instead of the classic face to face class, we still conduct online classes.
Instead of conducting lectures during class, I use socratic method in teaching. Some of my students always complained every end of an academic semester that I don't teach them properly, which is truly disheartening on my part.
My purposes of using socratic method are very simple: (i) I want to verify if they really studied and understand the concept of our topics; (ii) I am trying to build their confidence in speaking in English language and at the same time, improve their speaking skills; (iii) I am trying to improve their study habit and their comprehensiom when being asked with complicated scenarios; and last (iv) I want them to be a better person and learn something beyond the four corners of the textbooks that they are reading.
I do believe in the "teamwork" between educator amd student that you mentioned here, as I always say to my students "I cannot help you without you studying".

That's right our friend we are there to give support but our students must do their part because this way they can achieve academic success as well as in any aspect of their lives.
