Almost every culture in the world teaches young people to control their urges and to avoid having sexual relationships. In a family, parent do not normally allow teenage boys and girls to sleep in the same room. They should not allow their teenage sons and daughters to lock up themselves with their visitors of the opposite sex in their rooms.
In schools, teenagers are taught to form good habits about sexual relationship.

Consequences of indiscriminate or irresponsible sexual behavior

Careless sexual behavior may have several bad results. Some of these are now described:
Teenage pregnancy

The following may happen if a teenage boy and a teenage girl have careless sexual relationship:

• The girl might become pregnant
• The girl might drop out of school
• The parent of the girl might send her out of their home
• The pregnant teenager might have health problems
• The boy might be forced to marry the girl
• The parents of the boy might be forced to maintain their son and the girl

Children born outside marriage

If a married person (male or female) engages in irresponsible sexual behavior with persons other than their spouses, children may be born outside marriage.

If a man discovers that he is not the father of a child born by his wife, there will be hatred and quarrels in that home. If a married man makes an unmarried girl pregnant, he might have the responsibility of maintaining her and the child. This might cause quarrels in his family.

Sexually transmitted diseases

Indiscriminate or irresponsible sexual behavior is likely to help the spread of sexually transmitted diseases such as gonorrhea, syphilis and HIV/AIDS.

Lack of respect in society
Persons who practice indiscriminate or irresponsible sexual behavior are not respected in society. The females may be called prostitutes while the man may be called sex addicts.
