More than a year all activities take place from home because of covid-19, one of which is education. Of course teachers and students are expected to be able to learn like they learn in school. The tone of certain techniques and tips used. So if normal students only have to use smartphone and several supporting applications to carry out the learning process, what about students with disabilities.

What learning methods are applied by teachers to teach students with disabilities, In this article, I will write some tips in teaching students with disabilities. I focused this method on students who are deaf.

  • Caring teacher and companion

Teachers who teach students with hearing disabilities must have a good disposition when teaching, if the distance learning media used are applications such as zoom and google meet, then try to show your face clearly. And the intonation of the voice must be clear, and the tempo of delivering the learning material must be right on target, not too fast.

  • Don't get covered in anything

Keep the faces of the teacher and students visible to each other, so students can see your lips moving. and when speaking it must be really clear so that students can understand it. This should be done by teachers who do not use sign language. In addition, the teacher must take the time to repeat what has been explained by him.

  • Use sign language & written information.

This is one of the mandatory menus for teachers who teach students with disabilities. Especially because the learning process takes place remotely. Nevertheless, teachers are also required to present other learning media, like writing on a blackboard, or if it's like now, The teacher must display pictures of the material being studied to the deaf student.

Because, if you only use sign language, students will not understand it in detail. Therefore, teachers are required to prepare written information, because deaf students will be better able to understand it.

Those are some tips from me, and maybe there are some other tips to teach deaf students such as providing technology, giving appreciation for how they are more diligent in studying, and also paying more attention.
