COMPREHENSION READING: JOSEPH THE NAUGHTY BOY
Joseph was staying with his Uncle Ben for a short holiday. it was his first visit to Lagos, and though he has been warned several by his Uncle not to go too far because he might end up missing since the city was a big one, he wouldn't listen.
One day, Uncle Ben wasn't around and because of Joseph's excitement to explore the city, Joseph decided to go for a walk to see the city. He walked for more than ten minutes, but the city center seemed to be no nearer.
Joseph looked enviously at the people going past him into Lagos in buses, lorries, and cars. suddenly, he was happy. A bus with "Charity Transport" written by its side stooped nearby. Joseph without a second thought jumped in, and the bus started again.
After a long ride, there was a sudden tap on his shoulder, and he turned around to see who he thinks might be the conductor stretching his hands out to get money from him.
Joseph was more confused than ever because he thought he saw "charity Transport " written by the side of the bus.
The conductor without a second thought asked the driver to stop the bus, ordering and cursing Joseph because he suspected that Joseph was new to Lagos.
Joseph thanked the conductor and came down not knowing where to go from there or what to do and it was becoming pretty late and dark outside.
Uncle Bale on the other hand came back and was worried because he is yet to see Joseph. After staying for some hours and there was no sign of Joseph, it was becoming late and dark, the street becoming lonely and scanty. He decided to drive around the city.
After passing about two bus stops, he found Joseph who walking like someone was pursuing him. Looking afar off, Uncle Wale saw why Joseph was walking very fast. Apart from the dark and lonely street, he saw some hefty men who were walking towards Joseph.

Uncle Wale winds down the mirror and shouted Jospeh's name who without a second thought ran as fast as his leg could carry him jumped into the car and Uncle Wale drove off in speed.
Joseph could see the anger in Uncle Wale's face, immediately they got down, he started apologizing to Uncle Wale but Uncle Wale told him he was going to send him back to the village the next day.
Joseph felt disappointed all through then night and couldn't sleep realizing that his naughtiness has caused his holiday in Lagos to be shortened.
The next day, Uncle Wale returned Jospeh to the village explaining why he had to return joseph.
Joseph did not get to spend his holiday at Lagos because of his naughtiness.
