Bidemi was an orphan whose mother died at his tender age and lucky enough, before the demise of his father, his father left him a house he could call his home and lay his head after the day.

Bidemi was a hardworking boy, and since he wasn't ready to go and disturb his uncles, he decided to fend for himself while still going to school. He started selling sachet water in the street to sustain and buy the things he needs.

Because of his bravery and hard work, he was able to handle schooling and his trade which he started. Teachers and his neighbors loved Bidemi so much that they most times gave him food items or money to use in taking care of himself and his needs.

The competition which will soon be held by the school authority between classes gave Bidemi sleepless nights and a headache since he hasn't been able to buy the materials needed for the competition not to talk about starting and it was only two months away.

One morning, while the students were at the assembly hall, the headmaster called out Bidemi's name and asked him to step forward while he continued to address the students about Bidemi's hard work and excellent performance in the just concluded examinations. He also made it known to the student that he had kept aside a price for him for his excellency and that he deserved it.

The headmaster used that medium to encourage all the students to strive harder like Bidemi so they can achieve academic excellence, he also promoted them to work harder to succeed. After the speech, the headmaster patted Bidemi's back telling him how proud he is. Bidemi beamed with smiles and he was full of excitement.

A package was handed to him by the headmaster who congratulated him once more by shaking hands with him. After school, Bidemi went home and opened the package handed to him by the headmaster and he was so happy that he found some amount of money which he also knew he would be using the money to procure the materials he would be using for the competition.

Bidemi went into his room and pulled out a bag which contained the collection of some materials he had bought with the money people had given him instead of lavishing them on things that are not important.

Bidemi smiled at him himself with satisfaction that he can now buy the other materials he will be needing for the competition.
