Saturday Night Movie Night - Stuber

It's Saturday night her in Australia and it's movie night! Fun time for us to come together as a family and spend some time together watching the latest flix or catching up on movies we've missed. It's probably the only T.V I watch other than walking into the odd news broadcast if it's a topic I need to be across for work.

We have our own popcorn machine which Little Miss absolutely loves using and watching the popcorn come out of. It's a great novelty a bit more messy than the microwave job but I do enjoy switching it on and giving her some joy and me too :)

You get alot more than a packet of microwave popcorn and I find the taste is alot nicer, sprinkle some salt and pour in some melted butter and you're good to go!

Tonight's movie that we buckled in for was the 2019 action comedy Stuber staring Dave Bautista former wrestler for the WWE 2002 - 2019. Bautista is definitely one of my favourite wrestler's turned actors and not many can pull it off. There's been a few over the years and most notably to Rock would be the best wrestler turned actor. His early acting career didn't pose well infront of the screen but he has gotten better over the years and now he is a natural.

But Bautista is a natural from the get go and his role in Guardians of the Galaxy can not be topped. He perfectly play Drax the Destroyer with his own personal twist and completes the team, I look forward to his parts they're the best!

Stuber, what can I say? A classic cop loses wife, cop finds killer, cop finds himself in a position that he needs help and that help is Stu played by kimail Nanjiani as Stu. With a modern adaption that Stu is an Uber driver.

Bautista ends up hijacking the poor bloke whose hell bent on a 5 star user rating so does his bidding. Fast paced, action packed not much of a story line and the film is just an action packed comedy. A really funny film to just switch off and let your mind run with.

The chemistry between the two actors is actually really good and reminded me alot of another older film called Lethal Weapon. It's not a major movie so don't be exected to be blown away it's just a really good Saturday night family movie and the jokes used are actually pretty funny. Bautista's acting really starts to shine and he brings alot to the role in his own unique self.

If you're looking for a film just to kill a few hours and laugh through then Stuber is definitely a film you will enjoy. It was fun, warm, dumb and action packed so I would give it a 5 out of 10. Nothing major and not a block buster.
