Galjoen, Kabeljou and lobster in Swakopmund
We are currently on holiday in Swakopmund, Namibia. One of the locals' favorite past time is fishing and we were treated to a seafood feast, freshly caught galjoen, kabeljou and lobster on the side.
We prepared the kabeljou on the fire, keeping it in its pure form, served with some fresh lemon slices, ground salt and pepper.
The galjoen is quite an oily fish, it was prepared in a pan, covered in an egg and flour mixture, salt and ground pepper to taste.
These gorgeous lobsters were properly cleaned and served with a thick, luchious cheese sauce. Basic ingredients for the cheese sauce is cream, a generous helping of cheese, a bit of flour to get the right consistency and a splash of lemon juice, as it works so well with lobster!
In Namibia the old slogan is definitely true: "I am on a seafood diet, everything I see, I eat!" Will be sharing more of our amazing meals while we are here!

Lucky gal, Swakopmund is still on my bucket list! All that seafood looks so yum, enjoy😋
I lived here for 3 months last year, when I got stuck during lockdown. Absolutely love the people and this country!
