Welcome to my blog, today on the menu is a healthy dish which is also consumed as ayurvedic cuisine. So friends I present in front of you,

Horse Gram - Chana Dal Fry!!

Horse Gram or Chana Dal is a superfood to eat, very tasty and super high in nutritional values. This is a great source of plant based protein and is normally considered as a basic food for Horses. For humans it acts as a catalyst in weight loss, it helps in increasing appetite reducing levels also it reduces the hunger hormone Ghrelin that makes us less crave for the food, so it helps in weight loss.

Let me just quickly get onto the recipe starting with the,

Ingredients :

  • Horse Gram - 300 Gms.
  • Onions - 2.
  • Tomatoes 2.
  • Salt to taste.
  • 1 tbsp of Turmeric Powder.
  • 1 tbsp of Red Chilli Powder.
  • 1 tbsp of Garam Masala.

Quickly finely chop the Onions and Tomatoes.

Let's have a look at the process now.

Firstly, Take horse gram(Chana Dal) put it in a pressure cooker and add water.

Also, Add Salt to taste and 1 tbsp of Turmeric powder.

Now, close the lid of the cooker and let it cook for 5 to 6 whistles.

Meanwhile, take an open vessel and add vegetable oil to it.

Add Onions to fry.

Once the onions are done add finely chopped Tomatoes.

Now the Onions and Tomatoes mix is ready, let's check the gram.

Horse gram is boiled and ready. Let's add the Onions and tomato

Added the mix and Stirred it once, Let's cook it for 2 minutes on medium flame to thicken the gravy.

And it is ready!!

Serve it with Indian Style bread " Chapati "
