Hello foodies,

Welcome to my blog today on the menu is a very special dish and a story behind it.

Presenting..

Buckwheat Pancakes with Potato and Curd.

This meal is not just a meal, this is a sacrament for the devotees who observe fast during these days of the year. According to hindu mythology it is known as Sharad Navratri. This is one of the biggest hindu festival, a nine day extravaganza, dedicated to nine different incarnations of Goddess Durga. During these nine days devotees observe fasts for 9 days and are only allowed to eat permissible food. Also devotees refrain from eating meat, fish, eggs, pulses, cereals and grains. despite this there are many super dishes that one can have, out of which one meal is what I have prepared. Let's get onto the recipe quickly.

Ingredients :

  • Buckwheat Flour.
  • Roughly chopped potatoes.
  • Groundnut Oil.
  • Salt to taste.
  • Red Chilli powder.
  • Dried Mango powder.
  • Cumin Seeds.
  • Coriander Powder.

Here is the process.

Take a pressure cooker and add 2 tbsp of groundnut oil.

Add a pinch of Cumin seeds.

Also, add chopped potatoes.

Now, add salt to taste, 1 tbsp of red chilli powder, 1 tbsp of coriander powder and half a tbsp of

Finally, add 2 cups of water.

Now close the lid and cook it until 3 whistles.

Simultaneously, take an open vessel and put buckwheat flour, salt and pepper.

Add water to the flour and keep stirring to avoid lumps.

Make this as a batter like liquid.

Now, take a pan and add vegetable oil, on medium flame.

Put the batter and spread it even with the help of a laddle.

Within two minutes the buckwheat bread will be half cooked time to turn it over.

Turn the bread upside down and let it cook from both the sides.

And the fast meal is ready!!

Thank You!!
