(Edited)

After having lunch at Es Teler 77 Restaurant, that I have posted on Foodies Bee Hive Community previously, now I will share here the dinner dish we had at MasakMasak Steamboat Yakiniku Restaurant. The restaurant is located at D.I Panjaitan Street No. 175, Sei Sikambing, Medan City. The location is perfect, at the heart of Medan, only five minutes drive from our hotel.

Upon arriving there, I found the restaurant is an old house, which is designed, decorated and functioned as a cozy restaurant. It’s really a good idea to function an old house to be a nice place to eat.

It looks a simple and old house, but when we’re inside the room, we were so amazed and surprised with the decoration and ambience. All tables are arranged so well with one hanging lamp lighten each table. There are two stoves placed already on each table. Surely, we were so content before ordering the menus.

We headed to a table close to the window and took a seat there. After a few moment, a waiter came to handed us menu list. He left us a moment for selecting the restaurant menus we would like to order. Let’s take a look at the menu list, to get to know their offer.

For steamboat, they have four main menus, including Tomyum Soup Special and Chicken Soup Special, and both regular one. However, what made me surprised is the price gap is only IDR 5,000. For Yakiniku, they provide tenderloin, US beef, beef tongue and chicken. The price is really affordable though tax is not included yet.

For the drinks, they serve only tea, mineral water, soft drink, lemon tea and bottled orange pulpy juice. For us, that’s okay.

After perusing the menu list, we decided to order Tomyum Soup Special and Beef Tenderloin Special. We also ordered iced lemon tea and pulpy orange. A few minutes later, a waitress came to set steamboat and portable griddle gas. And the soup is already inside, we just need to steam it.

And then she also served a big plate of vegetables, slices of beef, tofu, fungi, slices of dori fish, slice of chicken, an egg, and some other ingredients. We will pour all of these into Tomyum soup.

And also a big plate of slices of beef. Some slices of onion were also given. We will grill the beef and cook tomyum soup by ourselves.

My daughter seemed like to cook a lot. She poured everything inside steamboat to make tomyum soup. It looked so tasty, and it has very good aroma.

And we also grilled the slices of beef. Unfortunately, the slices are so thin, almost transparent. But, we really enjoyed it. We grilled them, and ate them all. Frankly, it was one of the best dinner we ever had.

I highly recommend this restaurant for having lunch or dinner. When I visit Medan again, I will come back to MasakMasak Steamboat Yakiniku Restaurant for having our dinner. It’s really a nice and cozy place.

I like this type of restaurant. It is rare to see it in Venezuela, and now with the most difficult crisis it will be to achieve it. The slices of beef really looked tender and thin, so they must have been cooked very quickly. I do not know Tomyum soup, but I suspect that it must be good and comforting, as all soups usually are. Thank you for showing part of your culture. All the best.

Yeah, I was really surprised with the interior design of the restaurant. :)
The slices of beef are really thin and almost transparent. Lol
But, that’s okay, we cooked them very quickly. Tomyum soup is actually originate from Thailand. But, now we could easily find Tom Yum in all counties in Southeast Asia.
I hope Venezuela could exit from crisis.. 🤲
Thank you @sirenahippie for the comment :)

Thank you Chef..
Surely, it was a great experience to cook by ourselves before eating the menu. The chef of the restaurant can just sit down and observe what happens on guest’s tables 😃
