I woke up this morning to prepare this delicious meal. Come along while I explain how it is prepared.

All images to be sent now are my own screenshots taken with my Infinix Phone.

Amala is a Nigerian food made with Yam flour or cassava flour. It can go with any soup and since I am using Jute mallow, I will be giving the steps. I already have my chicken stew made too 😋
INGREDIENTS TO USE;

(This is Yam flour (Elubo)

Let's start with EWEDU first

  • Rinse the leaves very well, I do this thrice to remove dirt.
  • Wait until water is boiled (a little quantity of water) Also, add potash to the water so the EWEDU can draw
  • Add the leaves into the water and stir until soft
  • Put it down and mash the EWEDU with the broom until very smooth
  • Put back on the gas and add little pinch of salt and stir. Wait for 1min and put down.
    Your EWEDU is ready.

It's time to prepare Amala 😋

  • Put a little quantity of water on the gas (this is for just one person)
  • After the water is boiled, start pouring your yam flour into it and at the same time, turn with your turning stick. Keep turning till it is somehow thick.
    See this 👇

  • Cover for 2mins, then put down and turn very well before packing it. Your Amala is ready with your EWEDU, you can use any soup to eat it.
    Here is my Amala already consumed and in my stomach 😅
