Would You Drink Peanut Coffee?

I don't mean peanut-flavored coffee. I mean coffee that isn't even coffee at all. It's actually made from ground peanuts! There's a peanut farm in Virginia that produces roasted peanut oil. Yum. The extraction of the oil from the roasted peanuts leaves behind a fine, powdery substance. The peanut coffee.

They call it coffee because it does look, smell, and taste similar to coffee. The only time it smelled different to me was while it was brewing. Then I could detect the pleasant aroma of roasted peanuts.

Now, taste is subjective. Personally, I don't care for the taste of coffee alone. But, I love it with flavored creamers. My favorite being french vanilla. I found the taste of the peanut coffee to be similar to coffee so I added some french vanilla creamer. The resulting blend is much tastier to me than coffee and creamer. So much so that I've already ordered more bags.

However, taste isn't the only factor here. Peanuts are naturally caffeine-free and acid-free so it's easier on the stomach and won't leave you jittery. If you're the kind of person who needs their caffeine, don't worry. They offer a caffeinated version too. Peanut coffee also contains protein and is non-diuretic.

And if that wasn't enough, peanut plants are much better for the environment. They release nitrogen into the soil, lower the pH of soil, improve soil porosity, and require a lot less water than coffee.

While I haven't sworn off coffee forever, I was looking to detox the caffeine from my system as I had been drinking too much coffee lately. Peanut coffee has been the perfect solution for me. I'm already sleeping better at night.

Perhaps Chicory root and peanuts would be a nice combination.

That's nuts man! LOL - I know, bad pun. But since coffee is made from coffee beans and tea is from tea leaves, shouldn't they just call it peanut?

Of course their slogan is "No beans. It's nuts." 😂

I agree calling it coffee is a bit confusing. Would have loved to be in on that meeting.

That sounds intriguing, and I had no idea such was available! It's always good to hear of by-products from one process being recycled into another thing! Thanks for the great information about this, and the review! 😃

I just discovered this 2 weeks ago. Better late than never, I guess. Now I have to try the roasted peanut oil.

Hey stranger...

Peanut coffee! Wow... Never heard of the likes...

I'm more of a tea man myself and since lockdown, I've been drinking around 8 cups a day on week days!! There is something about working from home that just makes me drink loads of tea!! :)

Ill keep an eye out for peanut tea!

It actually does taste a lot like coffee. Now, I don't really care for the taste of coffee without flavored creamer and this is no different. It's really good with vanilla flavor.

Creamer, flavor, and peanut butter will make anything great including peanut coffeee. I must give it a try!
