Meal Full Of Iron

Welcome back my favourite family clients ,

Here is my thanks for my participation to the august monthly cookbook challenge hosted by @theterminal.

Moreover with one conversation that I had once with my ♊️ Gemini Twin @vicvperezdelara on Discord, I realise it would be useful for all of us to know this.

For it I prepare you one recipe full of nutriments. Fibers, vitamins, natural iron. If you have had a big loss of blood or are a bit anemic like me, I invite you to come one day to taste my dish and why not reproduce it 😊

As you all need a little part of iron and natural vitamins, I cook you today:

Gombo (Okra) with grilled goat and his vegetables

INGREDIENTS / RECIPE

  • 2 bowls
  • 1 half leek
  • 2 onions
  • 2 slices of garlic
  • 500g rice
  • Gombo (Okra) --> you can fin and buy it on a tropical shop.
  • 3 sweets potatoes
  • Spices
  • 3 Maggi cubes
  • 1 tomato concentrate
  • 600g of goat meat

Rice

Process

There's so many way to make a good rice. Me, I make it in a in steam. Most of my friends and relatives who have tasted my cooking tell me they I am a rice specialists...

I start with boiling water on a pan with salt. When water was boiling, I put my rice and cook it dring 15 min.

I will show you next time how to cook a good rice without cookingrice because I hate it, 😒 lol
Moreover, when you boil rice without salt, the water you rince you can use it for rincing your hairs too 😌


Vegetables

Process

Chop the onions and fry them, while you wash the vegetables. Then cut them into rings and various rectangles into slices. Make sure to cut the ends off as well.

Then throw it all into the onion pan and fry it all, seasoning as much as you like for 10 minutes. Add two tablespoons of tomato paste and a glass of water. Boil all until perfectly cooked about 30 to 45 minutes depending on taste.


Meat

Process

Season the meat 1 hour before cooking like this the spices can be absorbed and the meat tastes good. Then fry it in a frying pan until it is grilled and place it in a dish.


Sweet potatoes

Process

Peel them and rinse them with water. then dry them. season them with paprika and a pinch of salt.

On a baking sheet put a spoonful of oil of your taste and add the sweet potatoes and then put them in the oven for 1 hour at 190 degrees.

This menu is rich in vitamins, iron and fibre to give you good strength. it's normally for three or 4 persons. The dessert will follow next...

I love all the foods you have in your article. Especially I love OKRA. Do you ever make Okra Gumbo with seafood or chicken? It is delicious. Yes, these foods all supply iron, which I need myself.

The orka soup is like a gumbo. We add seafood or chicken and the rice. You can leave out the rice if you want and add it later. The rice soaks up too much of the liquid, so I like to add mine when serving.
