Rolls are a Good Selection for Cooking - My Own Recipe

avatar

I love cooking rolls because they are beautiful, and they give you the opportunity to vary the fillings. I cook them when I am going to celebrate a special occasion. When my oldest son got married I made 50 rolls of meat filled with american yellow cheese and smoked ham, I srved them with salad and bread as a main course. People loved them. I really recommend them for parties, they are easy to prepare and with 1 kilo of meat you can obtain 12 pieces.

You can prepare rolls with meat, pork, chicken breasts, with flour and vegetables. You choose the filling, but it is important to cook the rolls in the oven without liquids. They have to be braised at high temperature wrapped in foil paper, taking care they don't burn.

This time I prepared my rolls with a good quality minced meat. It is going to be part of our luch. I filled them with a cheddar cheese, ham and bacon strips. Apart from that I used red pepper strips, carrots already cooked. The rest were the spices I used to flavor the meat.

To make these rolls you need:

  • 1 kilo of minced meat
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup of bread crumbs
  • 1 cup of parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 kilo of ham
  • 1/2 kilo of cheddar cheese
  • 8 bacon strips
  • 1 red pepper
  • 1 small onion
  • 2 cooked carrots
  • garlic powder
  • paprika
  • thyme
  • salt
  • olive oil

Preparation:

  • add salt to the meat at taste
  • add 1 spoon of paprika
  • add 1 spoon of garlic in powder
  • 1 spoon of thyme
  • mix well
  • add the bread crumbs
  • add the onion grated
  • mix well
  • the bread crumbs will absorv the meat liquids
  • divide the meat in two parts
  • rub olive oil in the two foil papers
  • place each half of meat in each foil paper
  • extend the meat well
  • place the bacon strips
  • place the cheddar cheese on the bacon
  • add the parmesan cheese all over
  • place the slices of ham on the cheese
  • add the red pepper and the carrots
  • roll each part helping yourself with the foil paper
  • wrap it all
  • cook in the oven at 180 °C for 40 minutes

  • cut each roll in 6 parts and serve hot or cold with salad, bread or cooked vegetables
  • I hope you enjoy it.

I wish to know the kind of rolls you prepare at home or for special occasions. At home we cook this style of rolls with meat variations, and we vary the fillings too.
