Blog #219: Simple Food, Stunning View @ Alimyon Kapehan in San Jose, Negros Oriental

Kapehan or Coffe Shop erected on the mountains has been the favorite spot among coffee lovers or even those who don't like coffee but wanted to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life. People love to visit kapehan situated on the mountains during long holidays or weekends, to rejuvenate and de-stress. Are you one of them? Today, let me take you virtually to one of the famous kapehan in San Jose, Negros Oriental.

Alimyon Kapehan is located in Janay-Janay, San Jose, Negros Oriental. It is estimated 10 kilometres away from the main road. If you don't have your own motorbike/car you can hire a motorbike driver to convey you to Alimyon Kapehan however, I can't give you an estimated fare because I haven't experienced to hire a motorbike going to the place nor asked the locals about the fare.

The wide driveway going to the parking area of Alimyon Kapehan is the first sight that will capture the guests' attention.

Since it is situated in the mountainous part that means you'll get to see animals. This was taken as I entered the gate of Alimyon. After watching them for a few minutes, I immediately headed to the stairs going above.

While hitting the staircase going upstairs, I was well-entertained by different flowers that beautifully bloomed.

Probably if you'll get to see these flowers, you will also be tempted to stop in front of them; smell them and take photos of them same as what I did.

How could I refuse to stop if these lovely flowers are right in front of me? It is certainly irresistible.

The compound of Alimyon Kapehan is full of different lovely flowers. As I passed through in this area, there were also flowers hanging on the vine.

And oh boy, this wonderful scenery welcomed me as I arrived at the dining area of Alimyon Kapehan.

I just stayed in the corner and I let myself feel the cold fresh breeze; and after a while, I took photos of the breathtaking view first before I ordered food and drinks for our snacks.

If you wanted to dine on the table with chair well there are many tables and chairs available but if you wanted to eat and just sit down on the floor you can do it also. Don't worry they have clean floor because they requested all their guests to take off their footwear and leave outside to maintain the cleanliness of the area.

The menu is just written on the board and posted in conspicuous area. The guests will immediately choose what to order without asking the attendant for a menu.

If you're not a Filipino and not willing to try our food maybe you'll get disappointed of their menu because all foods are filipino foods.

After I ordered food and beverage, I walked towards the other dining area. My friend and I were both agreed to dine on that side because no one is around. It is peaceful and quite.

We are lucky that time because of the few guests around. In fact, we were the only guests who occupied the other cottage.

After few minutes of waiting, our order has finally served.

I ordered a glass of iced tea and my friend ordered a glass of cold fresh calamansi juice. My friend didn't order coffee because she needs calamansi juice for her dry cough.

We also ordered banana turon. Banana Turon is one of the Filipinos favorite snacks. The ripe banana is vertically cut into thin pieces and wrap it with lumpia wrapper. Once it is already wrapped, it will be fried into the pan with enough hot oil and melted brown sugar, after few minutes this would be the result.

Although this is just a simple food but most filipinos love it so much because for us it is yummy.

I remember during my childhood days my mother prepared this food during afternoon snacks and we all ate this together. It was so simple life yet a satisfying and happy life.

As I saw the banana turon at Alimyon Kapehan's menu I was not hesitant to have it for my snack because I immediately remember my childhood days.

It was just a simple food we ate at Alimyon Kapehan but we had a great afternoon because we ate our favorite food in a place that offers a stunning view.
