Rib Eye Steak, Fresh Yams and Red Cabbage
Today is Independence Day in the United States. If it were not for the pandemic, I would be somewhere celebrating at a barbecue. I decided to fix my own special dinner myself. I grilled ribeye steaks cooked to medium, fresh yams, and sautéed red cabbage from my garden.
I was given a digital thermometer from a friend to help me cook my steaks to the temperature that I liked. I like my steaks cooked medium but sometimes it is difficult to get the right temperature.
Are used the digital thermometer that I received as a gift, and it made cooking the steaks a lot easier.
I also steamed some fresh yams with a squeeze of lemon juice and some cinnamon.
I picked a small head of red cabbage from by garden and sautéed it wit some sweet onions.
My meal was complemented with a glass of Shiraz.
