FRUITS AND VEGGIES MONDAY | The King of All Fruits is in season NOW
Every year during the summer months or at least from May till August, it's the season where the King of Fruits surface itself to the world. To show it's glory and ensure that all human kind still worships it no matter what.
YES ! It's the ever famous Durian
Not sure why it is called the King of all fruits; is it because of its size or extreme pleasant sweet fragrance that even from a 100 meters away can still be overpowering or that it has thorns that could kill any living thing. Whatever the reasons it may be, this fruit has a love-hate relationship with many homosapiens. If it's love, it's fanatic and deep addiction that no 🤑 can ever buy but if it's hate, it's to the faraway land of the Wizard of Oz one shall remain until the end of the season.
Okay.. maybe I'm being a bit too melodramatic but the emotions is pretty much the same. I'm no lover of the King but I don't mind seeing others enjoy it's glory. And that's what I did a few weeks back when I helped a fellow Malaysian to co-host a Fruit Feista party with the main highlights being the King himself. Being Malaysians, we're well versed with a specific species known as Mau Sang Wong; this gene is the King of all Durians. If it was back home, it would've cost MYR 40 p/kg and each whole fruit would weigh at least 2-3 kg the least.
Not everyone has the right understanding to convince the King to open up/share it's glorious flesh; it takes not only skills but also strength to break it open. But, once done the rest is easy peasy. As I said, the smell of durian can be detected from 1/4 mile away especially when it's from Malaysia. After all, Malaysia is best known for its Durian if not for other unique best seller stories.
This is a perfect Mau Sang Wong ! 😄
Because the flesh is huge and only a small seed inside, almost everyone I know could take up to a maximum of 4 - 5 pieces only; and that's considered a full meal already. Have you ever tried the King, himself ? Do try at least once, consider it to be Fear Factor Malaysian style 😆
I'll definitely share more in my next post. Hope you enjoy my photo taken from my Huawei

Weii.... I just had 1kg durian pulp 2 weeks ago... I cannot keep eating durian
I can picture you just at the Durian stall day in day out.. ha ha
Haha, well I knew @zord189 likes them, but I still haven't had a chance to try. I'm a little sensitive to smells so I might need to hold my nose before I try one just to make sure I would give it a taste before running away. 🤣
Just one.. consider it Fear Factor..
After that, you can announce that you have tried the King himself and overthrown him big time!
Don't touch my Durian lah! 😅
Ha ha.. Indeed the right phrase when everyone wants a piece of the KING !!
