Authentic Indonesian Food Battle:Chicken Pop vs Gulai!
Hello, friends especially foodies!
For our Friday dinner, mom and i hadn't known what to have then i browsed on my phone to try figure out what to have for the dinner. Then i thought and decided how if we ordered the one we hadn't had recently, padangnese food. Indonesian consists of many islands, and Padang is a name of city in West Sumatra island. They rich of the coconut milk food and many many delicious dish which is so famous even maybe you once ever heard the song 'nasi padang', the dish here inspired it.
After around 20 minutes of ordering then the food came, here was the money we paid for two boxes of Nasi Padang, 65,080 IDR or around 14.6 USD.
Look how it looked like
So clean and neat even they put all the dish in the plastic inside the box, also they put an orange in each box too. Oh yeah, they also sealed the outside plastic bag so it was safe and clean and the guaranteed the food inside.
Each box contained a chicken (the white one called pop chicken while the orange yellowish one called gulai chicken), they also gave some side dishes the balado tempeh with jackfruit and some other vegetable gulai plus also as always in Padangnese food authetic green sambal (chilli paste).
The taste
Pop vs Gulai
The white one called pop chicken, while the yellowish one called gulai. Basically they made it with coconut milk. While the pop chicken had sweet and only a bit flavour, the gulai chicken had savory authentic flavour. The pop chicken came with the special chilli sauce with sour sweet and spicy flavour. I prefer their chicken gulai than the pop one cause it had tastier flavour.
It was also served with other dishes, the flavour of each dish:
Balado tempeh - savory and spicy
Jackfruit and other veggies gulai - savory and a bit spicy
Green chilli paste - spicy and savory
And also the oranges they gave was totally fresh with sweet and only a bit savory flavour, it was also so smooth. Love it too :). We really enjoyed our Friday Dinner.
