Common Snack In The Mountain
Happy Friday hivers!
Basic foods we cooked during our feeding time. This is mostly considered as a snack between two heavy meals but there are people who serve these for a regular meal of the day.
This is called Ginataan
We need these ingredients
- sago in different color
- landang/stuff from palm tree
- glutinous powdered rice
- brown sugar
- sweet potatoes/camote
- Karlang/taro
- glutinous rice
- jackfruit
- coconut
- Grated coconut
- coconut milk
Procedure
Clean and wash all the ingredients.Remove the peeling of the sweet potatoes,cassava and karlang or taro.
- Prepare the biggest casserole, filled half of water
Keep the fire on a higher level.
Add on all the hard ingredients. Leave for an hour. Add the jackfruit and coconut milk for the final touch.
The powdered glutinous rice will be formed into a tiny ball and dropped into the boiled water.
We did feeding once a week and these will be divided to all the students. It is necessary to do this thing because some students are luck of good nutrient. We taught them about how people must be united and have the merit of giving each other. We introduced to them the modern world and society.
Being a teacher, I give all that I can do. I am a proud teacher to the indigenous people in this place.
