[ESP-ENG] Un postre sencillo de hacer: Arroz con leche / An easy dessert to make: Rice pudding

¿Les pasa que a eso de las 3 o 4PM siempre se les antoja algo dulce? A mí me pasa casi todos los días jajaja seguro por esa razón me convertí en repostera, pero a veces provoca un postre que sea rápido y sencillo de hacer.

Does it happen to you that around 3 or 4PM you always crave something sweet? It happens to me almost every day hahaha for sure for that reason I became a pastry chef, but sometimes it causes a dessert that is quick and easy to make.

Por eso esta tarde preparé un postre que es un clásico en muchos lugares del mundo, o al menos en gran parte de Latinoamérica: El arroz con leche. Y que toma unos 30 minutos como máximo.

That is why this afternoon I prepared a dessert that is a classic in many parts of the world, or at least in much of Latin America: rice pudding. And that takes about 30 minutes maximum.

IngredientesIngredients
1 taza de arroz1 cup of rice
3 tazas de leche3 cup of milk
1/2 taza de leche condensada1/2 cup of condensed milk
4 clavitos de olor4 cloves
2 ramas de canela entera2 whole cinnamon sticks
1 pizca de sal1 pinch of salt
Canela en polvo para decorarCinnamon powder to decorate

¿Cómo hacerlo? | How to do it?

1-. El primer paso es un truco que usa mi mamá para que el arroz no quede duro. Ella remoja un poco la taza de arroz con una taza de agua durante unos 10 minutos en una olla grande.

1-. The first step is a trick my mother uses so that the rice is not hard. She slightly soaks the cup of rice with a cup of water for about 10 minutes in a large pot.

2-. Se retira el agua que se usó para remojar y se le agrega las tres tazas de leche y se coloca a fuego medio.

2-. The water that was used for soaking is removed and the three cups of milk are added and placed over medium heat.

3-. Agrega la pizca de sal, seguidamente agrega la leche condensada y mezcla un poco.

3-. Add the pinch of salt, then add the condensed milk and mix a little.

4-. Pasados unos 5 minutos agregar los clavos de olor y las ramas de canela.

4-. After about 5 minutes add the cloves and the cinnamon sticks.

5-. Cocinar a fuego bajo hasta que el arroz esté blando y la leche se haya reducido.

5-. Cook over low heat until the rice is tender and the milk has reduced.

NOTA: Hay personas que les gusta que quede muy seco. A mí me gusta que quede cremosito, no me gusta dejarlo secar. Esto es cuestión de gusto.

NOTE: There are people who like it to be very dry. I like it creamy, I don't like letting it dry. This is a matter of taste.

6-. Una vez listo, dejar enfriar y servir. Decorarlo espolvoreando un poco de canela sobre él.

6-. Once ready, let cool and serve. Decorate it by sprinkling a little cinnamon over it.
