Cooking New Indomie Variant Like a Pro

avatar
Hello, Hive. So last night I had my instant noodle craving and decided to buy this new Indomie variant that is Indomie Seblak Hot Jeletot in the nearest convenience store.

In case you aren't familiar with Indomie yet it is actually a local's instant noodle brand which is really popular in Indonesia and has recently became a global hit over the last few years.

This new variant is a Seblak flavored one. Seblak is an Indonesian street food that contains of kerupuk, chicken bones, eggs, chicken feet, vegetables, and sometimes beef and macaroni depending on what you want to add into it. It has a very refreshing and spicy taste and I would love to recommend it to anyone who loves spicy food. The new variant includes the noodle, a packet of seasoning and chili powder, a packet of spicy seasoning oil, and another packet of kerupuk.

How to Cook it Like a Pro

Now this is actually a clickbait since I'm not really a pro but here is how I usually cook my Indomie to make it taste better.
First off you need an egg and green cayenne pepper. I used two pieces of green cayenne peppers and sliced them thinly. The noodle itself is already spicy enough but you still can add more however you like if you want it to be more spicy.

Next you put a cooking oil into a heated pan, crack the egg into it and stir it right away. You can also stir it first in a bowl before putting it in and make them more scrambled egg-like. Both are fine.

Make sure it's half cooked and pour 400 ml water into the pan and simmer for 2 to 3 minutes. Put the sliced green cayenne peppers in while we wait for the water to boil.
After the water is boiled, put the noodle and all the seasonings into the pan. I know some people love to put the seasoning first when cooking ramen but the order is definitely up to you. For me I prefer to put the noodle first.
After all is mixed, stir it again for another minute or until you think it's cooked enough and ready to be served. Pour the them all into a bowl and enjoy! Don't forget to top it off with the kerupuk. It's gonna taste heavenly and it's perfect to feed your instant noodle craving.
