Every march 11th-13th every yearly is set aside to commemorate the world sleep day to raise awareness on how important it is to get a healthy sleep.


  • the theme for this year world sleep day is 'regular sleep healthy fu0ture' is an awareness program to let people know the importance of sleep for achieving an optimal quality of life and improve global health.

Sleep plays a significant role in ones life, and having a good sleep is indeed a good one for the body,soul and mind.

Many problems or accidents could be avoided of one has a sound sleep. That job could have been handled better,
Food sleep prevents diseases like hypertension,depression and even obesity.


how to have a sound sleep and improve on unhealthy sleeps;


  • dont discuss anxiety-inducing situations right before bed time.
    Yeas, avoid any thinking or thought that could be about anxiety or stressed mind, it does provoke tension and bring about restlessness.
    If you cant do without that thought, just leave it till the day time amd rest your mind while you sleep

  • create a good environment for sleeping; set up your room and a way that will facilitate good sleep, avoid rays of light into your eyes, its advisable to put the light off, in a cool room and very quiet. For someone like me i do react to every bits of sound, and it does disturb my sleep so i make my room very quiet

  • have a routine sleeping time; make it a habit to have a bed time every night, dont sleep late and avoid sleeping too much during the day time as it will affect your sleep during the night

  • Exercise your body;
    Endeavour to exercise your body regularly but not when you are about sleep,exercising just before going yo bed,will increase your energy level thereby making it difficult for the nerves to calm and sleep

  • avoid eating late or drinking alcohol late nights
    This is also another bad habit, eating late or drinking when you are supposed to be sleeping, it will disrupt your sleep, its important your body system digests almost every food you consumed before going to sleep.

  • Avoid the use of nicotine or caffeine, also avoid all forms of thinking while on bed, this is not the time to worry about anything remember you need your body to relax and build some worn out cells and your immune system you needed for the next day's work.
