In the 49 years that I have I have learned that no matter the circumstances, life is worth living, it doesn't matter if we are in quarantine, if I can't go out to visit my friends, if I can't go out to a meeting or party. It doesn't matter, what really matters is that I am ALIVE, I can breathe, I am healthy and I feel extremely grateful for the people in my life, more than enough reasons to be cheerful and happy.

This does not mean that my life is rosy. The truth is that yesterday I lost a very special person in my life, my cousin, my almost sister, that special person with whom I talked for hours and with whom I also argued, but deep down we knew we loved each other.

It was very sad to hear of her departure at the hands of the virus. The helplessness of not being able to visit her in the medical center where she was, the helplessness of not being able to help her son in his care. The helplessness of not being able to collaborate financially in the purchase of medicines. The sadness of not being able to say goodbye one last time. I know it was her time, I know we all have a time to be and her time is over on this plane. That keeps me standing, smiling, at peace and comforted. Everything was perfect. There is no blame, there is no right or wrong, it just IS.

Yesterday was a very hard day emotionally, but today when I woke up, the first thing I was grateful for was to be alive. And the second thing I did was to tell my cousin wherever she is, congratulate me, it's my birthday! ... what happened next was indescribable. I felt love surrounding me from all sides, a great joy appeared in my heart and I felt comforted, sure that everything that happened was perfect and for the best. It was simply beautiful.

Life is a roller coaster, full of emotions, joys and sorrows, but the truth is that life is worth living, so VIVA LA VIDA!

Frida Kahlo a pesar de tener una vida con muchas pruebas tanto físicas como emocionales, siempre mostró un gran temple y deseos de vivir, de disfrutar y expresar sus emociones a través de la pintura. En honor a esta frase, la banda Coldplay, tiene una canción llamada “Viva la Vida”, si tienes la oportunidad te invito a que la busques y la escuches, esa canción no tiene desperdicio, es una joya.

Ahora bien, pero y por qué el título de mi post es precisamente “Viva la vida”. Resulta que hoy estoy de cumpleaños, y desde que desperté estoy agradecida con la vida. En los 49 años que tengo he aprendido que no importan las circunstancias, la vida vale la pena vivirla, no importa si estamos en cuarentena, si no puedo salir a visitar a mis amigos, si no puedo salir a una reunión o fiesta. No importa, lo que realmente importa es que estoy VIVA, puedo respirar, estoy saludable y me siento sumamente agradecida por las personas que hay en mi vida, motivos más que suficientes para estar alegre y feliz.

Lo anterior no significa que mi vida sea color de rosas. La verdad es que ayer perdí a un ser muy especial en mi vida, mi prima, mi casi hermana, ese ser especial con el que hablaba por horas y con quien también discutía, pero en el fondo sabíamos que nos amábamos.

Fue muy triste saber de su partida a manos del virus. La impotencia de no poder visitarla en el centro médico donde estaba, la impotencia de no poder ayudar a su hijo en su cuidado. La impotencia en no poder colaborar económicamente en la compra de los medicamentos. La tristeza de no poder despedirme una última vez. Sé que era su tiempo, sé que todos tenemos un tiempo para estar y su tiempo se acabó en este plano. Eso me mantiene de pie, sonriente, en paz y reconfortada. Todo fue perfecto. No existen las culpas, no existe lo bueno o lo malo, simplemente ES.

Ayer fue un día muy duro emocionalmente, pero hoy al despertarme, lo primero que agradecí fue estar viva. Y lo segundo que hice fue decirle a prima donde quiera que ella esté, felicítame estoy de cumpleaños! … lo que ocurrió a continuación fue indescriptible. Sentí que el amor me rodeaba de todas partes, un gran gozo apareció en mi corazón y me sentí reconfortada, segura que todo lo que ocurrió fue perfecto y para bien. Simplemente fue hermoso.
