We love Gotu Kola, which is how it's called in Ayurveda. Not many people outside of the US call it pennywort. In thai it's called Bai Bua Bok and sold everywhere - BUT NO SUGAR!! LOL π No boiling either, since that destroys most of the goodness that way. We drink it freshly juice or in a salad. By itself it tastes great - a strong, herby but not bitter taste.
Many of the juice bars in Chiang Mai sell it freshly squeezed (from a slow juicer) in a shot glass. Awesome for good health!
The farting? Eat less carbs and ramp up your probiotics! It is NOT a sign of good health and more a sign of food festering and rotting in the digestive tract.
Do you grow it organically too?? It grows in many of the khlongs here but often not safe to eat from there.
Is it well known in Suriiname?
I am sorry, I know it from my mom. I made it fresh not cook. I put sugar because a little bitter, my daughters not like. When people in Khmer drink it for medicine not put not sugar. I learned to name it by myself on the phone. All people here know it's medicine, it has a lot near the street. Thank you for your commentsππ»
I post vegan lok lak recipe two days ago for you. Are you see or not? π
Do you cut it from the swamps and drains where you live, or do you buy it at the market? I grows EVERYwhere that's wet here in Thailand! Makes a great Salad.

My mum gave me one of these plants, but I didn't know it likes a damp environment, so it died soon after I planted it. π I'll have to try and find a plant with similar properties which grows in a dry climate.
Oh sorry about that, here have everywhere look like grass. I asked my landlord about it, she said all people Suriname know it is medicine but they donβt care. She is 60 years old but never eat it.
