Weight Loss Diaries: I Lost 7 Pounds in TWO Weeks.

It is less than a week ago when I wrote about dieting, how I had gone from 3 months pregnant to 4 and only noticed it after getting on the weigh scales.

12 Stones 7 Pounds, or was that 8? I shuffled my feet around on the scale hoping it was slightly faulty and the needle would drop a little; it didn't.

belly.jpg
Source

It was a true figure. We have a second scale (just don't ask) and so I double-checked and the scale staunchly remained at the same level.

This was around the 14th of November. That is 16 days ago.

Since then I have been rigorously dieting, using MyFitnessPal as an aid for almost 2 weeks before recently ditching it.

image.png

…’I no longer need MyFitnessPal as I know what to do now’…

At the age of 22, I was the skinniest bastard there ever was. My wrists were thin and at school, I got lots of shit as the other kids could get their finger and thumb around mine and connect them.

What I am saying is that I have naturally skinny genes and maybe this is a factor.

What shocked me was this morning I took in some coffee, had the ritual dump hoping this would make a difference and hopped on the scale naked.

…’how can something change so drastically in just one week?’…

The needle moved up to 12 stones dead. Was this fucking scale broken? I could not believe my eyes. Just a week ago I was 12 Stone 7lbs.

Grabbing the other scale I did the same. Both of them can’t be bust surely?

SkinnyDay1.JPG

...'Don't do 967 calories EVERY day, but if you do.. then you will see a more dramatic change'...

So there you have it. Start dieting and after a week you will see NO CHANGE. Continue and after another week you will shed 7 POUNDS.

This is what happened to me 'and I am still in denial'. Baby @slobberchops is still waiting to be delivered but has now receded to 3 months.

I am next going to tell you how YOU can do this. Stick to this and you will also lose 1 month of male pregnancy.

SkinnyDay2.JPG

...'1333 Calories on this day. keep under that 1470 limit and you are on the right track'...

Only you can do this. Fall off the wagon and nothing will happen.

Exercise will make things happen quickly but the body is slow to react. Give it time to adjust to your new diet.

Don't give up after ONE WEEK. Expect the scales to be exactly the same after 7 days. It's a bummer but keep at it. After TWO WEEKS, get on the scales and see the difference.

SkinnyDay3.JPG

...'Only 1046 Calories on this day. If you want shit to happen you need to use your willpower'...

I can't honestly believe the difference and I'm jumping up and down with joy while typing this article out. Well... almost.

This is I what have NOT been eating:

Chips (French Fries), Bacon, Crisps (Potato Chips), Biscuits (Cookies), Chocolate Bars, Toffees, anything fried.

BadDay.JPG

...'Dominoes Pizza is bad, I mean BAD.. but you can pig out occasionally!'...

Yes, I have had a couple of meals containing chips, cut out 90% of it, that's enough. Don't eat the other things I mentioned above, like not at all.

You can see from the MyFitnessPal report what I have been eating. Count every calorie for almost 2 weeks and steadfastly enter EVERYTHING into the app.

The database is huge; it scans barcodes (on mobile) or just enter the food item. It will be there.

When you are on the diet track, you will no longer need it. The pounds will come off and you don’t need to exercise, I didn’t.

AppleCrumbleForDinner.JPG

...'if you like Apple Crumble, then eat just that for Dinner, it makes a change from the savoury stuff'...

This is my personal experience, I can’t say it will happen for you but I tell you, when you get on those scales and see what I saw just an hour ago, it’s a fucking massive upper!

The next target is 11 Stones 5 Pounds. That's another NINE pounds. I will make another post once I am there and only 2 months pregnant.

I couldn't believe it.. after a week... nothing.. not even the slightest of movements, and then this morning... fuck me! The bulge is still there, just not quite as big as before.

Maybe that dump before the second weeks weigh in had a lot of backed up slobberchops detritus in it which just broke free like an iceberg calving into the sea!

I did try and squeeze as much out as possible, you know.. those turds have some substance.., but honestly.. it was a sparse one. I will refrain from getting on either of those scales until next Friday morning. Ooooh, it's all so exciting.. hope I can inspire some others to do this.

A sparse one... Lol!!!

I hope so too!! I am thinking of getting back on the being fit wagon shortly. My knee which failed a couple of months ago had been a stubborn bastard at getting better. However there is some signs of improvement which is giving me hope. I don't want to be a fatty!!

Are you still WFH being an office geek like me? Try what I did, and keep to it. NO BEER at all. I haven't drank anything for those 2 weeks, and no fizzy drinks either.

Yeah man, stuck at home. I did pop in for another visit this week but those are unusual.

I never drink fizzy drinks. My one saving grace. Had no beer for donkeys as well! Was sticking to a bit of wine to stave off the belly!!

So what you eating? Chips everyday from the local chippy? Or snacking too much.. I have cut all that out.

My eating is actually quite good thanks to the Good Lady. My problems lately have all been lack of activity cos my knee was buggered. If I can get that fixed I am laughing

My problems lately have all been lack of activity

I am living proof that it's not necessary. It's great for us, but we invalids have to work around shit like this.

Good going but exercise speeds up the process. I love my food too much so even though I am no gym bunny will go for a 30 minute or 60 minute walk depending how far pregnant I am. That tummy could be triplets lo and it is amazing how a morning crap doesn't move the needle on the scales. Keep at it as it can be fun once you see the results.

Good going but exercise speeds up the process.

It does, I hate running but would do it except my calf keeps going and I'm scared to run now. You can add exercise to MyFitnessPal which gives you extra 'credits'.

it is amazing how a morning crap doesn't move the needle on the scales.

You would think they have some mass, but no.. they don't. I ain't picking one up to check tho!

The longer it takes to come off the longer it takes to put back on. I think I need to be in the right frame of mind to do this stuff as when I do it becomes serious. My clothes are all shot now and need replacing so it looks like business will be back to normal by February so have a good 3 months to do something. Promised myself I would start next month as the pregnancy is unwanted and there is no shortcut like chewing a box of laxatives. A proper lock down fatty and have even broken the couch now so it is time for action. No dieting though as that is not fun. Will follow how you do and it should come off quickly.

Congratulations - that's a great achievement 😍
Do you want me to give you the science about why you lost that much in one week? 😎
Good luck with the next nine pounds 😁

I was shocked, I mean.. there's some moments in your life when you can't believe what you see. This was one of those times. Look at the food intake I have posted, the screenshots of MyFitnessPal.

This is a typical day for me. I keep it under the limit and try to keep it way under. 1475 calories is what it tells me I need to keep too. It depends on your height, age and weight. It's all factored in when you enter your stats.

It's working for you, that's great :)
I've just lost eleven pounds and four inches off my waist measurement. MyFitnessPal is a good tool.

Great progress, more importantly, great tracking.

Dieting is really simple at the end of the day - 3500 calories = 1 lb of fat, so if you want to lost 7 lbs you need to burn 3500 times 7 calories over what you eat - possible in a month with decent exercise and 1500 a day, 3000 calories a day burning is not too difficult if you're moderately active.

I hope those covent garden soups times two were part of a deal.

Dominos - err no. Especially when I would call 4 slices a diet, I'd eat one to myself plus sides!

Great effort, but some of that is probably the excess grinds in your colon rather than fat!

It's still good for the time having said that.

Interesting, I'm still learning about all this. I did it 8 years ago, but had @goblinknackers as a Tennis partner then. All that is out of the window now.

@bingbabe got me these. she probably paid top price.

I love their stuff, and that Garlic dip which is also calorie infested.

Great effort, but some of that is probably the excess grinds in your colon rather than fat!

The tub is still there, but it must have come off somewhere.

I'm surprised most people don't know about the calories to fat ratio - I use it all the time mentally!

I was going to comment on that tiny tiny pot of lard, it's amazing how they can get so many calories in such a small space!

The general rule of fat is that where you want it to come off is that last place it comes off!

Don't I know it, I was shocked when I saw the amount.

he figure you gave must be per 100 grams....

Then a kilo would be 5000 calories, so a pound (in weight) would be 2500, which would be roughly what mostly fat with some sugar in it would be (sugar is fewer calories per pound), which is basically what that pot of mayonnaise is - sugar and fat!

This is a big pot, 675 calories in here! I generally go through one per pizza session. Scary!

Ah, just wait until you hit the plateau. Most people when they start dieting they loose a ton of "water weight" right at the beginning and they get really excited. Then they hit a plateau at some point and that is when they usually give up. A lot of it just depends on your metabolism and it sounds like you have some good genes for that. I worked out five days a week for six months before my last doctors appointment and I gained 5 to 10 pounds. It was pretty depressing. That's when they throw out the whole muscle weighs more than fat BS.

That's when they throw out the whole muscle weighs more than fat BS.

Is it BS.. Did you do Strength or Cardio? I am blessed with skinny genes and this is only the second time I have had to do something about it. It's just age creeping up on me and the slowing metabolism. I will do another one next Friday and we will see if there is any change.

Soup for lunch, with a slice of bread.. yum!

Yum indeed! I did a little bit of both. These days I try to do cardio Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Then on Tuesday and Thursday I do strength.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button! The pregnancy is going backwards! WooooooHooooo Good for you. I mean I fight this battle routinely and way good for you.

I'm guessing you don't want to go to @galenkp s #weekend-engagement this time. It's food, and there are already enough pictures to make a fat boy sweat (me).

How many calories does jumping for joy burn? I was 10.5 Stone in my teen and student days. Nearer 12 now, but have put on some muscle. I think I was over 13 for a while, but was getting a belly. I put most of the loss down to running, but I have been cutting down on cheese. I don't think there's one regime to suit everyone, but then there are thousands out there in books etc. At least you are making progress. Hope you reach your target.

I haven't used any books or schemes.. and yes.. there's so much out there.. but none of them work unless you have willpower. Something I have fortunately been blessed with.

That has to be a key factor. Some people need an app or 'club' to push them. If only the bad foods were not so tempting!

Anyway I'm having fish and chips tonight :)

I'm still an angry pissed off dude who looks like that (Though my hair is currently green.), but I've always been a bigger dood (6'3 with a frame for somebody who'd play football apparently). I just asked an artist to tweak the Vault Boy from Fallout to look a bit more like me with a reference photo and that's what I got, babyboi.

Using an app to help get things down is a good idea. I used one when I had to keep track of my carbohydrate intake due to diabetes, it helped me learn what foods were high and which ones were low.

You will be shocked at some of the calorie numbers you see. 'Nutritional Facts' is great, they have to tell you.

I was pretty much a blind eater, I never cared about the calories, the salt, or the carbs, so I did not know many of the numbers until I started using an app, Yeah I would look on the package I could see the numbers, but they did not really register in the brain, they were just numbers, no learning involved. With the app and need to learn it was a big help.
