Hot Basil Seeds and Lime Drink to Help Improving Body Immune System

avatar

Hello, everyone. I'd like to share how I made my hot lime and basil seed drink.

Lime and basil are grown in Indonesia. They are very commonly used as ingredients for cooking or drink. The lime is believed to have health benefits, for instance, vitamin C. Basil seed is good for helping with improving our immune system. So, I believed this basil seed and lime are a great combination to improve our body's immune system. And, adding honey is beneficial for health, and for the taste as well.

Let's jump into how I prepare it. First, I took some basil seeds and soak them in clean water. TI I waited for some time or about 30 minutes to get the water soak into the seeds. Actually, the water soaks very fast into the seed, you may not need long for it.

I soaked quite a lot of basil seeds thinking that I could put the rest that I did not use into the refrigerator. I could use them later for other purposes as well.

I store the basil seeds away, then I prepared the hot lime drink. Here is how I made it.
I took a lime, and then cut it into two. I only used half of it. Next, I squeezed the lime, and pour its juice into a glass.

The next step is I added some hot water to mix with the lime juice. I could not miss also adding some honey because I really like sour and sweet combination taste. I stirred it so everything was mixed. That's it, the lime juice was ready.

In the end, I took and two spoonfuls of the basil seeds to the glass. Finally, my healthy drink was ready.

Oh Yum - it took me AGES to try my first Basil Seed drink here in Thailand (where's it's really common and sold in most supermarkets and convenience stores). After my first taste? WOW - such a unusual flavour and so thirst quenching! Knowing how good basil seed is for health makes it an easy choice. Never bothered to make it at home yet, but happy to know how. Might try this soon.

The basil seeds are used to mix with different kinds of drinks. I also just learnt about the health benefit it has. It's very good to help the heartburn and help to make us relax.
