HELLO BEAUTIFUL HIVERS,

Do you know when feeding birds, we have different kinds of feeds from different manufacturers. These manufacturers have different price tags with different usefulness to the birds.

  • CHIKUN vs TOP FEEDS

Chikun feeds

Chikun feeds have it differences like it varies in price and the form of the feed, the Chikun feeds look like some small small stones. More or less like a cat fish feed. And I think its the second most expensive feed after Ultima product. Its rich in protein, vitamin and less of carbohydrate. Its very expensive that why most farmers avoid buying it and also its easy for birds to eat and finish the feeds within minutes but can sustain more than 6 to 7hours. A bag of Chikun feeds cost #6,200 in Nigerian currency.

Top Feeds

This is Top feeds feed, mere looking at it looks like a march product. Let me say like a grinded corn. Very soft and always plenty and it very rich in carbohydrates but has less of protein and vitamin. This product is always plenty, birds might eat a portion in almost 5hours. They will still be there picking every pieces. The price of the product is #5,600 in Nigerian currency.

In my own case, formerly I used top feed product but now I have shifted to giving them Chikun product but with a little bit of helping them to march with mortar and pistel. The first time I introduced the Chikun product, they were all just looking at the feeds expecting their usual top feeds but with time they get used to taking Chikun product. I am not here to castigate a product for another, its a matter of choice.

I @peterale is saying thanks for visiting my post. Do have a wonderful day. @peterale cares.

Don't mind the camera. Just working towards getting a better mobile phone with better camera.

That's interesting that they didn't know what to do with the different texture; my cats are like that too, ha ha. Sometimes I give them a new food and they're like " ...???!" 😂
At a store I sometimes go to, they have eggs that are "soy free" because sometimes when you have allergies, if the animal eats your allergens then their eggs or milk can set you off, so I guess there is a chicken feed that has no soy but many of them do! I have noticed that the allergy happens for me with milk but not with eggs. A friend of mine said her husband has it happen with eggs. It just goes to show it makes a difference what food you feed them!

Yes, sure! You know at first I wasn't familiar with birds not until I started rearing it. For the first time that I gave them the new feed they were like looking at the feeds and they were expecting their normal usual feed. I became curious, then I left them. After some couple of minutes I came back to check on them, saw some of them already picking the feed, then others did the same. Lo and behold I didn't find any feed in their feeders when I checked on them in the morning, funny!!!😂😂😂😂
