👩‍🍳 A Spicy One Indeed 🌶️

This week is spicy, or should I say full of spice, that sounds much less intimidating those not fond of the chili pepper. When I say spicy I mean full of spices, not necessarily hotness from chili peppers. I really like the mix of recipes this week from all over the world. A new #plantbased chef, @mdaminulislam, has posted another awesome pickle recipe, but his time within our community, so we give thanks, and I chose this chef as the winner of this week's 5% beneficiary.

Between the delicious pickle and tantalizing relish in this curation, I am left craving chapatis, but unfortunately our new apartment only has a hotplate, so we are still very limited in what we can cook at the moment. There is a little something for everyone to enjoy this week, even if you're not a fully #plantbased eater.

How to Be Curated by PLANT BASED

Use the tags #naturalmedicine #vegan or #plantbased
We don't mind what community you post in - although we prefer you post in the Ecotrain or Natural Medicine communities!
Ensure your recipes are plant based - although we don't preach any diets, this curation would like to focus on plants rather than dairy or meat additions to recipes.
Use clear, well focused photographs - and ORIGINAL content!

Chalta pickles ( চালতার আচার) - Made by me

This pickle master is back with an awesome recipe and also what I think is a new-to-me fruit. I discovered his blog last week while venturing outside the community for awesome vegan recipes. We gave him a warm welcome and now he has shared this new recipe post within our community, so we give thanks for new chefs joining our ranks.

Those red-painted fingernails tell me has a co-chef in the kitchen, and cooking with a loved one is always more fun than doing it alone. This pickle really leaves me craving a chapati or paratha to enjoy it with. I think it's about time I make a pickle to satisfy my cravings of late.

What To Do On A Rainy Day - Why Make Relish Of Course!

This post is a recipe and a bit of a story as well. I love to see a little bit of insight as to why a chef chooses a certain recipe on any given day. Feeling has a lot do with food choices, and this rainy day put @trucklife-family in the mood for chutney with friends.

Things don't always work out as we planned, and due to bad weather and some missing ingredients, she stayed at home with her kiddos and made some relish instead. This is a perfect example of just going with the flow, if in life then in the #plantbased kitchen as well.

Natural Medicine: Basil Leaf Tea Recipe | Get Rid of Cold, Cough and Shortness of Breath Problems

I found this post right here in our own community. A good hot healthy drink on a hot day is something I love, and many tropical countries love their food piping hot and spicy as well. In India, there is nothing better than a steaming cup of chai at high noon.

In this post you'll not only discover how to make this tea (very simple), but you'll also see some health benefits and effects of drinking this tasty but simple basil-y beverage. A common tea here in Suriname is made with tulsi (holy basil), and I'm sure that would be suitable substitute if you don't have access to standard basil like us.

🌱 Fried Spicy Longbeans, Tempeh, & Soy Chunks 🌶️ An Ital Recipe 🍴

Khmer-ibbean Ital chef @Sreypov has learned to cook without many ingredients she once had access to in her native country of Cambodia. Creativity saves the day, and she has learned to how to blend the more limited South and Southeast ingredients of Suriname into some truly awesome dishes tastier than anything available at a local restaurant.

Many Hivers have enjoyed this chef's culinary treats, and this dish is just awesome. Two super common ingredients here in Suriname are tempeh and longbeans, but this is way more creative than local chefs' dishes.

Plant based feast on a snowy day

Legendary Hive #plantbased chef and food photographer extraordinaire @carolynstahl knows how to throw down in the kitchen as well as she knows how to carefully hold a camera, and the combo of these skills is in perfect harmony. This post has recipe"s" inside, everything you need to know to make the awesome spread you seen in this photo. I know there are only 2 eaters at her place, so I am glad to see they didn't attempt to finish off this massive feast in one go.

Indian, European, Mediterranean, there is no telling which direction she will take with her recipes, and that's very refreshing. Another thing in this post that made me chuckle was the free cabbage she got from her boss at the restaurant. It made me remember all the free scores I used to get while working at restaurants in the USA many years ago.

We hope you get involved with posting lots of yummy #plantbased #vegan #naturalmedicine #ecotrain recipes! Both communities are now also supported by OCD, so good quality posts might also get a little bit of extra love. Stay healthy, stay safe, and stay happy!

I really appreciate the mention and also that you continue to take the time, in your challenging situation there in Suraname, to display and curate the plantbased recipes. I love seeing all of the ideas from around the world.

Thank you!

Kind words, and I guess it's obvious that I'm replying on day 7 of this post, so yes, I guess I have been a bit busy. We nearly have our criminal background checks, one of the last documents we will need giving us freedom to be stranded migrants somewhere else much cheaper. This curation is like shelter from the storm, as time seems like something we have both not enough of and way too much of.

@sumaiya777 - great post! I've been drinking lots of tulasi tea myself, as I've been growing it this year. @carolynstahl is always awesome and inspiring - and @sreypov!

Now I'm hungry. Thanks for sharing these recipes with us!

No problem @riverflows, and thanks for dropping by to pick up the slack, although I am here on day 7. The last two days we have walked a marathon just trying to get criminal background checks, but with no luck yet. We are slowly marching our way towards relative freedom though. Hugs from Suriname. !ENGAGE 30
