Muklis, A Former Prisoner Who Became A Farmer!
We all know that the way of life is not always beautiful, sometimes to be successful we have to go through dark times. We sometimes have to fall over and over again to get higher, stronger. I think you agree with my assumption.
Likewise with the life story of Muklis, a middle-aged widower who has a very epic life story.Many things about his life that are contained make us cringe to hear his story, I think he is a unique human being.
The story is this, he is my neighbor, I guess he is around forty years old. He is a widower whose wife left him because he was caught in a drug case. Muklis is a cannabis farmer, he supplies the goods outside the region. One time he was framed by his friend and arrested by the police. He was jailed for eight years in prison.
His wife left him and left a baby boy who was entrusted to Muklis's parents. For all that incident he chose to surrender, accept the reality. Indeed, life is not always okay. In my opinion, he chose to become a cannabis farmer and supplier of goods because of economic problems. Because it is very difficult to make money here. Ohyea, you must know that our country Indonesia does not legalize marijuana.
Muklis served eight years in prison. He's only been free for one year. And come back empty-handed and try to start a new life. He has done a lot of effort while returning home, to be honest he is a hard worker.
From being a fish thief, to being a peddler and now he's choosing to become a farmer. This time he no longer grows marijuana, but he grows long beans and it is located right next to my house. He asked someone's land to be used as a farm.
Muklis is in his long bean field every day. I watched him clean the grass manually without removing the machine. He said he didn't have the capital for that. He must owe the long bean seeds to someone else. That's so sad.
In addition, every night he is a peddler of sweet betel traveling to meet the needs of his family. Because she lives with her mother who is a widow, plus her son who is already eight years old. He was born when his father was arrested by the police.
Now he is starting to live a good life by becoming a farmer. The long bean plant is about one month old, maybe in early May he will be able to harvest it. Hopefully the harvest will be satisfying. If not I'm afraid he will become a marijuana farmer again. Uhh..!
He looks very happy to be farming again. Hope he does well. The way he tied the poles together to make an arch is pretty interesting.
