Wild plants and growing by themselves sometimes escape from us, even if there is no need to be far away, maybe these plants are around our homes.

Like a wild plant that I found today, it is known as saffron grass or in Latin it is called Crocus Sativus. This self-growing weed is rich in benefits and has been researched in various countries.

I just found out after trying to find references from various sources on the internet. At first I didn't believe, if this beautiful grass had so many benefits. After taking some photos of these saffron grass flowers, I tried to use them, because they did exist and grew a lot around my mother's house in the village.

Saffron is a spice in the form of fine threads derived from Crocus sativus flowers. This flower grows and spreads in the Middle East region. Saffron is the most expensive spice in the world due to its complicated cultivation and processing. The benefits of saffron come from the crocin compound, which is a carotenoid coloring agent that produces a golden yellow color. Saffron has a slightly bitter taste and smells like hay.

Who would have thought that Saffron, which comes from Crocus Sativus grass flowers, has a high enough price in the market, this is quite reasonable based on its use in natural medicine.

Woah! I didn't know all those uses for saffron, possibly people don't commonly use it here because it is so expensive (but then, so is cannabis, and lots of people use that, lol). That's really interesting, I might have to look into the extract.

Just to let you know, a lot of the mods here at Natural Medicine are interested in your personal experience of using a remedy, so maybe next time, talk about how you harvested the flowers near your mother's house and prepared them, and then you're more likely to be curated and upvoted! :)

The plant is not harvested here. It grows wild and many people are still unfamiliar with its use, and I found it today in the bush around the house of my mom. So I have not tried it and the references I get are also from the internet as initial knowledge only. Hopefully in the future I can get more information about this plant, and can try the extract. BTW thank you for coming and appreciated it :)

Oh, I thought from the beginning part that you had picked some of the flowers and were going to try making a tea for yourself or something.

I am always wary when buying saffron in stores because I know it's one of the most commonly faked spices in the world, even people know how to fake the strands of saffron. In your case, with the fresh flower at your fingertips, you have access to the real thing with 100% certainty.
