In peace, I find myself

In peaceful moments, empty-headed quite
am I, and no untoward thought disturbs
the flow of feeling, 'neath expansive skies;
no conflict raises, and no wretched spite
to mar the beauty of the simple herbs
and flowers perched before my happy eyes
can move — existence negative revoked;
to All that Is my spirit light is yoked.

For still, in ease, to Truth must I be bound,
my freedom felt but proves the greater firm,
unshakeable foundation of the calm
which utters naught but echoes all around:
the swell of sweet sensations to affirm
the presence of a guardian, a balm
of universal medicine to heal
the overwhelm — existence, and I feel
exquisitely the clockwork of the earth;
with ticks, and whirrs, and chimes — and rumbling low;
and birdsong, and the chaos, tears, and mirth
of beings all advancing, sure but slow
in lock-step with the rhythm of the song
which wordless anthem lovely, all along
has played beneath the surface, before time —
before tongues and proclivity for rhyme
emerged to eager new-participate
in symphony, screenplay — fulfill the role,
of Atlas, ever-should'ring massive weight:
perception of the parts, and not the whole.

In peaceful moments, no divisions show;
all is smooth without the need to know
the method and the madness of the days
we spend with one another, nor the ways
that loving must eternally abound—
in losing such illusions I am found.

Note
____

I have been residing in this apartment unit for a year, and since I have a balcony, I am growing a small herb garden on the patio. The herbs I have right now are rosemary, thyme, oregano, two varieties of lavender, three kinds of mint and targetes lucida. Additionally I have a couple of cacti, an aloe plant, and a "spider plant."

I have a small composter on my porch and I definitely would have been doing more gardening this spring if not for everything going on. Still, I will likely add on to my collection a bit — though only a bit, as it begins to become unmanageable with the intensive watering required! Actually, I am not overly fond of container gardening and look forward to a future in which I have enough land to be able to plant many things directly in the ground. However, I am very happy to have a little pocket of greenery in the midst of the well-developed suburub I live in. Coming up is the greatest challenge: helping the plants survive the intense Texas summer heat. At the peak of heat, it is practically required to water them multiple times a day to prevent them from burning to a crisp!

I am anticipating a wonderful summer filled with many possibilities! I am so grateful for all the resources at my disposal which can be utilized for further self-development and increasing my connection with life. I have been fortunate to be able to stay connected with many from the Hive community during the time society-at-large has somewhat closed its doors. That will only bloom further as we work to build something beautiful here.

With love,
@d-pend

That is really beautiful and inspiring. I'd like to hear the poem on soundcloud or 3speak... or whatever audio medium perhaps with a video clip of the plants waving hello.

I'm also interested in the composter. We have room on our balcony and on the roof top and we can never get enough fresh herbs. Our garden is overrun by cats and bamboo so it looks more like a jungle. Anything we grow there will be trampled on. But the balcony sounds like a great idea. The only problem is my youngest still likes to ride his toys around and needs the space. The roof top is ok. We keep it locked up because... (story not told) well anyway my wife is kind of superstious and is afraid of ghosts. But I've got not problem and maybe the ghost will enjoy the herbs.

This post is very timely as Spring is at its peak here and the kids have online school for at least a week more.

I should claim some of the rooftop as mine. It is now occupied by black birds who think they own the place.

End of ramble.

Thanks for reminding me to get back into the audio side of poetry... I haven't done it in quite a while, and there's no excuse as I have a really nice microphone now that I didn't have before when I was doing it!

This is the one I have, amusingly marketed as "The Cutest Composter in the World." https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0121B5474/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

That sounds like an interesting rooftop you have!

Thanks for answering my random comments. That's not an easy task, but your poem asks for interaction. I don't know if it is the algorithm or if people actually don't want to think, but the parables go right over their heads.

I began my blog around Thanksgiving 2017 and never expected anything. I used the name Mineopoly because I was learning about mining monero and wanted to mine more alt coins. After a few months of hanging around I wasn't interested in mining. I used the Mineopoly identity as the kid who never grew up and just flew around this place like Woodstock. I'm glad to fly around.

I'll look at "the cutest composer in the world".

Beautiful little garden you make on your patio. My dream would be to have a high rise luxury Apt. in Manhattan with a huge balcony to have a huge garden of plants. Anyway, good job with what you have to work on :)
