Are you moving to HIVE, Staying On Steem or Do you plan on using Both?

Are you moving to HIVE, Staying On Steem or Do you plan on using Both?

I will intentionally say very little in this topic but for those who might not know what HIVE is I will give a very brief and likely not completely accurate description of it:

HIVE is a new blockchain or as some like to call it a "sister blockchain" of Steem. Many of Steem(it) current/past witnesses and community decided they didn't like the direction STEEM(it) was going so they decided to create a new chain based on the same technology used on the STEEM blockchain.

This new chain / fork of STEEM is called HIVE. Steem users past information (posts and topics) was mirrored and placed on the HIVE chain upon launch but from launch forward the two chains (Steem and HIVE) will run independently from each other. You can log in to both the STEEM and HIVE chains using the same username and keys.

I won't get into why this happened, Instead I would like to pose the (not so) simple question.

Are you moving to HIVE, Staying On Steem or Do you plan on using Both?

(If you are reading this topic I will assume you know what STEEM(it) is)

  • HIVE

  • STEEM

  • BOTH

  • Too MUCH drama (I'm leaving BOTH)

Answer the question at dpoll.xyz.

At the moment there is so much going on in the world it's difficult to find the time to fully digest the blockchain drama. I work in an "essential service" industry which is great for job security at the moment, but it also means we're very very busy.

As well as that, keeping on top of what is happening to ensure that my family is as safe as we can possibly be.

I'll get to a decision at some point, but to be fair, I have higher priorities at the moment.

Stay safe, some of my family members work in the essential service area as well. I just stocked up on some supplies today myself and I won't be moving out unless absolutely needed.

Right now I'm using both while I wait for the power down of steem. But I ran into something that raises a question....

So I started powering down on steemit but when I go over to PeakD...It says my hive is powering down as well. Is this normal or did I do something wrong?

Anyone else run into this?

From my understanding, if you started your STEEM powerdown before the chain split/ new chain creation then your HIVE will also be in power down mode. If your STEEM powerdown started after the split that indeed would be odd. Its possible if you stop your STEEM power down it will also stop your HIVE powerdown?

hmmm. Yes it was was a day or two after the split....I'll try to stop it and see what happens. Thanks :)

edit: That did the trick. Just had to stop and restart the power down.
ok i'm off to work. Cheers!

HIVE is the old face of STEEM before Justin and after Justin is not a clear future about STEEM I decided to use both chains by now because some projects are still working on STEEM, the good thing is we all can make an strong crypto community with his own blockchain based on social media that any crypto has.

The second steemit(Justin Sun) decided to block people on steemit.com, I'm moving over to Hive. Fully. Unless something attracts me back.

I have put in a lot of hard work on Steem. Can't give up on it. So will go for both. Also Splinterlands and Drug Wars both still work on Steem. So can't get away from Steem.

STEEM = Central Gouvernement = FACEBOOK without users

In that Scenario I take HIVE & Facebook (FB,INSTA,WhatsApp) & Twitter & Google (Youtube,GMail,GDrive,Maps..) & MS Windows/Office on top of an IPhone -_-

Sorry, there is 0 Space for STEEM.

Why you ask the same as ten or more before you? A drama it is for sure. Leaving is clearly not leaving to some and threats continue

I haven't participated in or seen a poll such as mine although I'm sure they do exist but to answer your question .... I want to see what the readers of my blog will be doing so I can adequately provide my blog supporters content.

I believe you are one of the less using the info given. Good to read that. I hope others will not use the info to punish those who stay on both. Thanks for answering. 💕

I am "social distancing" both.
Need some time to understand whether I should gather hive or steem but currently more inclined to hive.

I will use Steem for the next 14 weeks and then I'm out (Except Splinterlands)... Posting and engaging only on Hive!
