Banks are safer than leaving your money under your mattress, but they also charge tons of different fees if you don't follow their 'rules'

Without a doubt there are better places to store your money, but for the average person banks work pretty well. The fact they're federally insured is great because you don't have to worry about the safety of your money.

Unfortunately though, it seems that banks face a good amount of difficulty attempting to turn a profit. At least here in America, the banks have been 'bailed out' numerous times, and that's ultimately paid for with our taxes...in that sense, banks suck.
