A trip to the hospital.

I don't like to sit and wait at a hospital.
237.jpg

My soul is like this Sheepdog, it wants to be free and happy.

We had to take a lady to her appointment at a hospital and then to wait for one hour. Now like I said, I don't like to sit idle and so we popped over the hill to the ocean. They say that it's winter here and this is the cold Atlantic ocean. There were some people on the beach and believe it or not, there were also some young surfers.
Come and take a ride with us!

As you can see below, it was late afternoon and here were some strollers.
235.jpg

Winter? Where's the winter? This guy has obviously never heard of winter.
215.jpg

Excuse me for placing a second shot, but I love the joy of this dog. He has also not heard of winter.
242.jpg

Here's a look towards the left and that outcrop at the back in the sea is quite famous.
184.jpg

Did I tell you that there were young surfers in the water?
160.jpg

We received a call to collect the lady at the hospital and after a 5 minute trip we were were finally headed back home..
374.jpg

The great thing about this area where we live is that there is always something to do and so many places to go. One can take a tour to the castle, or any other sights of the famous Cape Town City. Or one can come our way and tour the wine route, farms, mountains, nature reserves, historical sights, or even ride the 7 mountain passes.
Of course there are also miles of white sand beaches, whale and dolphin cruises, boating, yachting or any of the other water activities.

I have mentioned just a few things that one can do, so who wants to sit and wait in a hospital?
Especially if you have a camera?

Gorgeous photos my friend, much better scenery than the hospital could offer! Bless you for taking your friend to the hospital.

You are very right, Zac, I couldn't sit and wait neither - not in a hospital and not anywhere else.
Real surfers don't care about the season and whether the water is cold or warm, I believe - I'm no surfer 😉

Yeah, you have showed us so many beautiful places already and I believe there's so much more we will see in future.

Oh I saw now that I didn't make a mistake as I am a slight bit confused still. When those high blood pressure things happen, I am normally a bit confused afterwards as according to the doctors my brain is starved of oxygen due to the abnormal blood flow.

Ha, put me in nature and I can wait for a whole day my friend, but those artifial white walls of a hospital and the unusual sounds make me feel like a trapped animal.

Yes, you are right, but even the brave don't surf here in July, as it's our coldest month and that Atlantic is colder than ice. Maybe I am wrong and I will have a look next month.

Thank you for the kindness and we plan to travel a lot more this coming summer 😊

Cheers and thanks!

To be a little confused is kind of normal in your age, Sir Sterling Silver 😂

I'm always impatient, even often when I wake up at night I get nervous because I have to wait for such a long time till the morning 😉

I'd love to photograph the waves one day - here on our lakes they are only centimeters high and the Mediterranean sea is mostly quite calm too. For real good waves I'd have to drive far north to the coast or to England.

After the year 2020 I am still a bit confused about travelling further away, but maybe in Autumn it will look better and I'll have some more time.

What? Who? What did I say that got me into trouble again?
Do you know that Trouble is my cousin? 🤣

Hahaha, that's where we are different, as if I wake up during the night, I simply get up to get dressed and then I go outside for the day. It doesn't matter about the hour as I don't wear a watch 🤣

England? Have a look and learn about our South African waves my friend.

https://magicseaweed.com/news/how-the-colossal-freak-waves-off-the-coast-of-south-africa-work/10997/

I think that all of the new Covids and restrictions are going to trouble travellers for a long time still Hannes.
We have just heard that they are planning to extend our current Level 4 lockdown.
It means that we cannot even travel between provinces in our country.

Cheers and thanks.

If I don't have to work the next day and have nothing else planned, I would get up also, but most times I try to fall asleep again.

Oh yes, the waves are huge down there, but a drive to England wouldn't take that much time, although it's still too far away for a daytrip ;)

There will be more waves and more lockdowns for sure and I don't think the vaccinations will help as much as they promise. But we will get used of this new life, I believe.

Ha, once these eyes open they stay open and there's nothing I can do about it because my brain tells me that it's day, even if it is still dark outside 🤣

Maybe you have to wait for the van and I think that many adventures will be waiting in the future 😉

There is now another new form of Covid called Lambda and they are saying the same thing as you.
The scientific talk is that our recent vaccinations might not work against it. They are now developing "Top Up" vaccinations.

A sad thing is that one of our fit rugby trainers was taken by Covid and he died at the age of 37.

So yeah, it's a real mess out there.

Cheers and thanks.

Good morning Zac,

I woke up at 4 and tried hard to stay in bed till 5 😁
I haven't been in the mood to go anywhere - came home late last night and will go to work tomorrow, so I think I will have a rather lazy day today.

The van will have to wait for me 🙂

There will be more mutations, and the virus will always be one step ahead, I believe, but one day we will get used of it ... till the next one arrives, but then we won't be here anymore.

I feel sorry when good people leave us in such a young age.

Hahaha, so then you know my struggles when I awake every day 🤣
I really hope that your lazy day has gone well thus far and soon the bed will be calling again.

Oh yes, often it makes me wonder about life Hannes.
I mean every person since birth looks foward to live as they grow, but what a life have they had when they die at the age of 4, or at any young age? A hard one to figure out.

Cheers and thanks.

Oh, my day wasn't lazy at all, I have been riding before lunch and gone for another ride after lunch ... one mountain pass and 5 lakes 😁

Yep, and I would like to know the sense for dying innocent a few years after birth.

Good afternoon Hannes and hope that your Sunday is good.

You certainly know how to make me jealous. 2 rides, a mountain pass and 5 lakes 😬
I hope that we will see another great post soon 😊

Some knowledge are kept away from us for our own good my friend. We can only see a through a fog at present, but a time will come when we will know everything.

Cheers and thanks.

Good afternoon Zac,

I'm at work and hope your Sunday is better, but I had some time to do some photo editing.

Well, I only got off the bike to fill up the gas tank - no photos at all 😁

I know and I hope, but it's sometimes just not understandable.

Ah, so it was your weekend at work again, I forgot.

I cannot believe that you didn't even take one photo. Sacriledge for sure 🤣

Many things that we don't understand my friend. Why burn a shopping center down if you want to buy food there tomorrow? Things are a bit hectic over here, as the looters have found an excuse to riot.

Cheers and thanks.

Yep, and today I am quite tired. Maybe I'll go for a ride after replying and then to bed.

I see many photo opportunities besides the road, but when I ride I ride - only a super shot can stop me, but that doesn't mean that you have to shoot at me 🤣

Such a riot has nothing to do with politics nor will it make anything better. We know that and they know that, but they want to burn everything down. These are my thoughts when I see such photos or videos.

Oh yes, you also have to rest every now and then, else your life will only consist of work and rides, or rides and work 😉

No, no, no, I will not even think of shooting you Hannes.
I will innocently put one of those unspeakable persons in fishnet stockings on a blanket next to the road 🤣🤣🤣
You will get off that bike so fast that the bike will continue to run through the mountain pass to the next town, as it knows the road 🤣

Oh yes and it was mentioned here that sinister forces are sitting behind the riots. There's a funny video doing the rounds of a guy trying to fit a very large new TV into his car. Hilarious if only it wasn't stolen.

God sits on his throne and laughs at them. In fact he laughs at all of us. Psalm 2.

Cheers and thanks.

At the moment it is just like that, but tomorrow I'll have to take a day off work, because I drive my daughter and her 3 friends to Italy where they'll stay for a few days. They wanted to go by bus and train, but by doing so they would have lost almost the complete day. So I drive them and maybe I see a shot or two on the way. Don't have much time though because I'll have to go to work on Thursday.

Nice, I think this unspeakable person would be able to stop me and my bike can ride where it wants for a while :))

I have seen this video - these people are not only dangerous and mad, they are also stupid, but this might be a reason how such planned riots work.

It looks funny, but actually it isn't, so God shouldn't laugh, he should throw some lightnings on them.

How many hours is the drive to Italy Hannes ?
My thinking is that if you leave at 5 or 6am and the drive is 2 or 3 hours, then you will have the rest of the day on the drive back and you can make a couple of stops to take photos.
At least that's what I would do.

But maybe you want to have lunch in Italy so that you can sit and watch the views (ladies) 🤣

Ha, no doubt Hannes, that bike will end up either in the ocean, or in another country like Egypt 🤣

Nope, they are desperate and hungry people are easy to stir into action when they are told to form mobs and to go and take anything that they want. We are determined to build the country, but the forces behind all of this are equally determined to destroy this country. Just because they cannot get to the money pots.

It might look funny, but whenever one rebels against God, then they will get what's coming for them.
Check Psalm 2 verse 12.

Cheers and thanks.

We left at 11am and arrived at 2pm. Then we were walking and having something to drink because we had to wait till 4pm for their bungalow to be free. Then I drove home ... not a single photo because of too many tourists all around, but I might get some letters from the Italian police because they will want some money for the photos their speedcams have taken of me 🤣

I have no words, but I hope for a good ending.

Very responsible of you to stay until they were settled and I saw in a previous reply that you went back to drive them to some other place.
Very irresponsible to let them buy cases of alcohol though 🤣

At least you made up for it by sponsoring the Italian police department on your way home 😜
I suppose you had to rush home to save yourself from a beating by the missus 🤣

Cheers and thanks.

I had to make sure that they have a nice home for the next days and they had to make sure that the fridge is big enough for the alcohol 🤣

Well, I hope I don't get such a letter because the Italian fines are quite expensive, but it's my own fault if I get one. No, my Missus had not expected me that early and she was surprised, positively surprised 😁

Oh man, it's going to cost to dry them out when they get back. When I was young like that I could stay drunk for a week 🤣
I hope that the fridge was big enough 😉

So, you see, I don't know what chased you as you could have travelled at your leisure and also taken some of those special johannpiber photos. But then again it is better to make the missus happy 💘
But we will get another chance I presume 😊

Cheers and thanks.

Yes, it was a big fridge :)

I had to work the next day and didn't want to come too late, that's pretty much all, and I didn't stop somewhere on the highway / Autobahn ;)

I said she was surprised, not happy 🤣

Oh yeah, they can stay tipsy until the middle of September 🤣

So, don't you have hazard lights and a warning triangle in the car?
Simple, you pull over to the side in the emergency lane, switch on the hazards, open the car's hood and put the warning triangle behind your car on the road.

Then you wander off into the bushes with your camera.

When you return there will be an officer waiting for you and you tell him that your motor is overheating and you have given it time to cool down.

A simple solution but with our luck when the officer let's you go and you drive off, you will discover that the motor has really started to over heat 🤣

Cheers and thanks.

I know how you do it, Zac, but you try this only once on our Autobahn where there's mostly a fence on both sides to hold wild animals off from running across the road. And if there's no fence you wouldn't have to wait for more than a few minutes till someone stops, and the one who stops would normaly be a police car. Now you would say that because I'm one of them they might even help me, but you'd be wrong, because even if they'd not give me a fine it would be more than embarassing.

None of your stories would work here, believe me, my friend, overheating motors might work on steep mountain roads, but having such as one who lives here would be embarassing again, because only tourists drive their cars that way 😂

The only solution is to drive to one of the few parking lots, but they are usually full of truckers and tourists and especially there is a fence around to hold the tourists off from driving off the Autobahn 🤣

Oh my goodness Hannes, you live in a big prison. Fences everywhere and it it was here the fences would get stolen in a blink of an eye.
Can you believe that we have "Beware of cattle crossing the road" signs here?

Any case with my luck I better not drive on your roads.
I pray in the morning. "Lord please don't let me get any surprises today" then as I go out of the front door of our house, I step into a smelly hill of dog poo that the neighbor's dog left as a present for me 🤣 🤣

Simple Hannes as I will just tell the officer that my pregnant wife had an urgent need and that I was searching for her in the bushes, but I cannot find her. I think she returned to the car while I was away and she must have hitched a ride back home 🤣

Seriously now, I will rather let my wife drive over there even if her driving makes me go bonkers. She normally finds the slowest vehicle, normally a big truck and then she stays behind it all of the way.
Sacriledge 🤣

Cheers and thanks.

Haha, on our motorways called Autobahn you drive 130 km per hour. In Germany there's sometimes no speed limit. We have a lot of accidents with wild animals on the normal roads - just imagine such happens on the Autobahn. We do have such signs here too 😁

Haha, you really better not drive on our roads, my friend, because when you drive a deer might find a hole in the fence ...

Well, our officers would accompany you home to see if your pregnant wife is fine ;)

Hahaha, I know such drivers too - they really drive behind trucks and sometimes they overtake right in the second you want to pass them 🤣

Oh yeah, it must be terrible to hit an animal at that speed. Even at our slower 120kph speeds, a car is scrapped after it hits an animal and some drivers have even died.

Nope, Marian will drive and a deer will have hours to move out of the way 🤣

That is exactly what's so dangerous for bikers as over here, people don't even look into their mirrors when they change lanes. Last night there was a bang sound and this morning we saw that a traffic light pole ran in front of a car and the pole was flattened.

Cheers and thanks.

People don't look here neither - you always have to take care and look ahead. Never trust that the other people will behave how they should behave.

Our traffic lights don't run, they usually stay on the place where they were installed and do their work ;)

Well I think that you know that some people think that they own the road. All others on the road are their enemies and they can do what they like.

So of course, when they put there indicator on, they turn or swerve immediately, as they are right and everyone else is wrong, especially those guys that have bicycles with engines in (bikes) 😉

You are blessed to live in a lovely country my friend and no wonder that your beaches look the same as ours as 250 million years ago during the Pangaea period the continents were all one massive one.
So once upon a time NZ was a part of Gondwana and that means that your country was a part of our African continent.
So frankly you and I are cousins 🤣

Personally I don't want to just sit around if there is such and more beautiful scenery where I live in. Hospitals have a gloomy aura but thanks to nature and such beautiful surroundings one doesn't have to sit and luminate on the bleak side of our existence.

Amazing photos. That's definitely not a WINTER! They should rethink the definition...😂
