Our Baltic Sea can be different. Most time of the year it looks lead or dark grey because clouds cover the sky hiding the sun thoroughly.

The sea is shallow. If people decide to swim in it in the summer, they have to walk, and walk, and walk... you can get tired walking before in will be deeper than up to your knee 🙂 . Also, the water of our sea is nearly fresh. All the above explains its colour, not as blue and bright as the Mediterranean or other southern seas. But it still beautiful!

It is not very stormy either because of its depth but sometimes it shows it character! Then, after storms, the sea shore can be very picturesquely covered with the sea's trophies.

Beautiful photos, @olgavita, with a very interesting explanation. I didn't know that the Baltic Sea almost always looked gray. The sea that borders my country is the Caribbean Sea (Atlantic Ocean). I really liked your photos. Good luck in the contest.
