New work w/ pinup icon, @vintagevandalizm!

Dammit. Just past the stroke of midnight and I’m starting this blog post. I was trying to get this wrapped up earlier because this day has really taken it out of me. The ongoing occupation of the city by National Guard armored vehicles and soldiers with machine guns is wearing on me. I’ve been having a ton fo productive meetings with the @eos.detroit team and although I love contributing to building such meaningful products, they Zoom calls and hours of correspondence are tiring.

That’s why I always try to make time to post here on Hive. To have something worth sharing, I corner myself in to editing at least three photos per day or drawing something cool. Tonight, I decided on editing new work with my longtime friend, @vintagevandalizm. We shot together in November of last year at the height of the pandemic. I had to be in Los Angeles to photograph a wedding, and rather than fly, I decided to drive across country. Along the way, I stopped in Vegas to see my friend.

Our collaborations are always memorable as @vintagevandalizm has become one of my best friends in the pinup scene. This meeting meant even more to me after spending most of 2020 in isolation under strict quarantine, missing friends every day. We picked up where we left off, driving in to the Nevada desert and shooting together at Nelson’s Landing. So many of these photos have blown my mind. I just wish I could have gotten to them sooner than tonight.

I’ll have at least one more set of edits coming from this shoot with @vintagevandalizm and if I have my way, hopefully another shoot with her this year. I’m trying to hit some targets with @eos.detroit projects but by the summer, I want to be on the road seeing friends and shooting again, at least for fun. Not a job. Stay tuned. I have a lot to share in the next few weeks. Thanks for reading and showing me so much love here on Hive. For more photography and the stories behind the work, follow me here.

Makes you wonder where all those troops and that response was when the capitol was occupied. Such a joke. These are some awesome shots! I hope you are able to get out and shooting this summer as well. My wife and I plan on doing fair amount of camping to make up for our cancelled trips last year.

I like your model and really like the first picture the best due to the model being on the saddle in the foreground and the vintage van in the background. All the photos are good.
