Mirrorless magic w/ Velvetine Suicide!

I’m feeling pretty good tonight. I think I’m finally shaking off the last of the vaccine symptoms. @lovejoy has been checking in on me and we shared some of the medical/social obligations associated with it. A conversation for another day and thoughts I’ll most likely share with a long form free write. Aside from the physicality, however, I did have an opportunity to celebrate a new milestone within @eos.detroit and a nice little raise to reflect the work we’ve put in over the last few months. I took the family out to eat […first time we’ve done that in a year].

I’ve managed to discipline myself for these nightly blog posts, which is so good for me. I still have some outstanding photography I owe, and writing for Hive is enough to convince myself that it’s a force multiplier to finish these edits, share them here with a few words, and maybe make some money. The photos I’m sharing tonight are brand new from a shoot I did in January with Suicide Girl, Velvetine Suicide. I’ve know her for years and we’ve shot together many times, but this was our first session together with the new Nikon Z6II.

We booked a room at 300 Clifton, a historic mansion in Uptown Minneapolis. The location is stunning. Honestly, one of the top three most beautiful spaces I’ve ever shot, including all the years of travel I’ve done. Velvetine is a natural creative, and in addition to her beauty, she is unbelievably talented. She’s an artist, a hair stylist, and a wardrobe stylist, making my job so much easier by just filling a suitcase with the outfits she thought would be most fitting. She killed it, as always, and the new camera amazes me with every shot.

So, this is just the first set. There is more from this afternoon with Velvetine Suicide, but the following blog post with most certainly be NSFW. Very moody, haunting and beautiful, though. For tonight, I’m going to try and relax. I just bought the new manga, Remina, by Junji Ito and the first issue of a new Carnage comic. I’m reading them on my new Onyx BOOX Nova 3 Color and I’m hoping to decompress from a week filled with work, meetings and deadlines. Thanks for reading. Have a great night!

My favorite of these three is the middle one, the spark in the eyes, the purple hair, the posture is stunning, and the thing that I particularly like which stood out was the rose tattoo.

I don't know much about Minnesota but it must be interesting. Another thing that caught my eye was the tattoo of a girl in a dress, looks like she is holding an umbrella, she reminds me of Alice in Wonderland.

I was always impressed with the catalog of Suicide Girls. Awesome stuff. It is really cool that you got to shoot with one of them and know one of them. Also awesome about the raise. I know that @lovejoy has different opinions than I do about the vaccine, but I always respect his opinion so I will be looking forward to that freewrite for sure!
