Hibatullah| Lifestyle portraits I created with an Hijabi; Hiba!

I've always fancied shooting a Muslim girl. But I never had the chance to meet one that was willing to pose in front of the camera. There are muslim girls that model though, but I never got to meet anyone until I connected with Hiba on Instagram.

Creating with Hiba was amazing. Unlike most models I've worked with, she was willing to put in her own effort to ensure that we created something. It took us barely two days to plan outfits and location, yet we got great photos. We shot at two locations. Here are my favorite photos at the first location.

During this photoshoot, I learnt that it was against Muslim doctrine for a girl to leave her hair uncovered in public. I had wanted some photos with Hiba on her natural hair but she declined. I'm not a Muslim, so I can't understand how open hair in public is a crime. But I respected her religion anyway, and we still got good portraits. Or didn't we?

For these portraits, I used a Nikon D750, and for the first time ever, I shot with a 80-200mm f2.8 lens. That lens is probably one of my best portrait lenses after 85mm. I used artificial lighting;Ad600 to be precise.

I hope to create with Hiba again. Hopefully when I visit Delta State again.
