Tree Tuesday - A Visit to Queen's Park
I only popped down to the Queen's Park purely to find a poorly/injured duck that someone had posted on Facebook. They said it couldn't walk. I only spotted a Mallard duck with a slight limp which is usual for ducks! I didn't find anything else.
Anyway, I decided to stop to take a few photos for #treetuesday initiated by @old-guy-photos. The cherry blossom trees looked really nice next to the old bandstand. You can listen to a local brass band playing on some summer afternoons on Sundays, if that's your thing.
The Queen's Park was opened in 1887 to commemorate Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee. There's a cafe, lake and miniature railway and kiddies play area. As a child my mum taught me to row on the lake. They still have rowing boats on the lake during the summer months.
I had a pleasant walk around the park until the dark clouds came over, so I decided to quit while I was ahead.
