A Walk Around Carsington Waters Reservoir, Derbyshire
I had a walk around Carsington Waters Reservoir. It was a fine day but a bit on the cold side. I soon warmed up once I started walking.
The reservoir is owned by the Severn Trent Water Board and has become a haven for wildlife. Most people visit for a bit of birdwatching, cycling, photography, sailing, walking and more. There are a few shops and a restaurant on site as well.
I called in at Stone Island. The standing stones cost £50,000 and was designed by Lewis Knight in 1991 for the Severn Trent Water Board. Great views from the top of the mound.
There are a variety of walks with some being accessible to all. We just did a short walk which I really enjoyed, with lots to see.
