Expert or Maximalist?
I have probably talked about a similar topic before, but I would like to touch base again something about being maximalist and compare that with being an "expert"... Actually, these things don't have to be attached only to cryptocurrencies, but also in any other niche or profession out there... But, I will try to keep it in crypto...
From my point of view, if someone wants to call themselves an expert, that would mean that he/she knows about a certain subject a lot, and compared with others, I would say that it should be in that 5% that knows more than the rest... Being an expert is a positive thing as it gives a lot of credibility to the person in the field of its expertise, which leads to more success, and if you want to deduct even further, better earnings... The expert can be a maximalist, but it's not a rule that everyone is...
The maximalists are the people who exclude anything else that isn't what they have picked... A very popular term in the crypto world is Bitcoin maximalists, which is usually a definition for people who HODL, trade, and respect Bitcoin ONLY, and all other cryptocurrencies don't exist for them...
Now, those are "my" definitions of experts and maximalists, but Wikipedia says this about experts
An expert is somebody who has broad and deep competence in terms of knowledge, skill, and experience through practice and education in a particular field.
And Investopedia says this about Bitcoin maximalists
Bitcoin maximalists believe that Bitcoin, which is the world's most popular cryptocurrency, is the only digital asset that will be needed in the future. Maximalists believe that all other digital currencies are inferior to Bitcoin.
In the video, I have tried to explain my point of view on both terms and how they can relate, or not with each other...
Thank you for your valuable time,

Well said here, always have an open mind and learn what you can about various projects as there isn't a "one size fits all" approach!
Indeed! And it's good that it's like that, as there is something for everyone! I like when we have freedom of choice, much better than we are obligated to do something...
Thanks for stopping by!

Yeah definitely! It's funny how some folks say it's all about freedom and decentralisation but then say that you shouldn't do this or that because it's not THEIR token... Oh well!

tokens.Definitely an interesting topic. Being an expert is great but it doesn't mean your a maximist. It just allows you to make better decisions and allows you to engage with others better.
Agree with you, but sometimes, in reality, it keeps people inside that "box", and that's why we have so many maximalists between experts... It's easy to get caught in that trap...
It's not always the case, but it happens... It should be as you said, to allow you to make better decisions...

tokens.I never understood maximalists. I mean, I understand them and their motivation, I just think they simply have a plain wrong point of view. There a reason why competition loses ground to cooperation. So, why choose the first option? Or even worse, why choose to consider yourself alone, when there are so many doing the same thing or something similar that can help push things ahead much faster.
I think that the problem is in the roots of humans... We just need to "pick a side"... and when we do, we tend to push only that side of the story... "to be in right", or to be a winner, better, or whatever...
And, as I said in the video, that's the perfect soil for making fights, battles, wars... In the meantime, those in power are drinking !WINE and working together... It was always like that, and it will be always like that...

Nah, I think it's a lot about education and background and how the world used to be run for millennia, in a conflictual paradigm. We play and watch way too many conflictual or competitional games and sports as we grow up and even afterwards as adults. And way too few where cooperation is the main attribute, without having a competition. And so our mindset is built throughout the years this way.
That's the definition of politics. Besides that other one involving the oldest job in the world. And "working together" for their own benefit and at the expense of public resources of course, otherwise it would actually be a good thing, God forbid!
