Lack Of Communication .:. Maybe you should try to avoid it...

In today's video, I was talking about my experiences with sales representatives in the hosting industry... As I'm still in the hosting biz (a lot less than I was before), I had a lot of communication with sales people from that industry and I have shared my point of view about it in this video...

I hope that my experience will help you in your business (and life), as a lot of things depend on good communication... There is no good co-operation without a dialog, there is no good project development without team member meetings... There is no good marriage without communication...

And another important aspect of communication is to USE time when we CAN do it... I mean, we are doing very often one big mistake, and that is delaying conversation, in a fear of a "bad" response, or unwilling reaction or answer... But, it's better to have that, than to have nothing as it can be too late for communication, and in some cases, we will not have that person around to have it at all...

Check out the video...

Thank you for your valuable time,

~ph~

There is no good marriage without communication...

"Silence in communication is sometimes more disturbing then noise in communication."

I have no idea whether I have really read above quote somewhere or it originated from my subconscious.

I like that saying.. and it's nice that it is engraved in your subconscious as it is important to have that in mind... ;)

Like words, silence is also a powerful weapon... ;)

When you talked about how you help each other grow without communication, that really hit home...

Communication is KEY in business, community & personal relationships. Without it, things cannot grow & evolve for the better. Otherwise, there's misconceptions, half truths & hurt feelings in one way or another, where it can all be easily avoided...

I am a huge advocate of talking things out, being honest & truthful, & coming to an understanding, whether you continue the journey together or not. You can still agree to disagree & move forward ... at least, you can have a mutual respect if anything...

And to do it "before it's too late"... yes, absolutely.

Like you, I am not really loyal to a brand per se, either, but I am loyal to ones who are loyal to me (if that makes sense). That might not be worded correctly, but hopefully you know what I am saying... lol.

Thanks for an interesting vlog (as always!). It gave me some things to think about! Keep inspiring out there :) 💜

There is no worse situation than when some half-truth stories start to go around, killing the relationship from behind... That's why the "early-move" is important and discuss BEFORE things escalate...

You can still agree to disagree & move forward ... at least, you can have a mutual respect if anything...

This reminded me of my business partner and our disagreements but still doing our jobs...

Thanks for your kind words!

Communication is so crucial in literally everything!
Even computers need to communicate with each other to exchange data for example lol
And like everything when one side fails or interrupts the communication line, the rest will also fail or not work as properly.
I had many problems in the past with my lack of communication, either I didn't talk to the person when was needed or not notice that the other wants to communicate with me. I'm still a bit dense sometimes so I prefer that people talk to me directly when I did something wrong so I can correct myself or I will be forever doing something wrong and not noticing it lol hence being shy or not comfortable to talk to people. I'm a bit better to communicate but of course always trying to improve. Feedback is always welcome!
This is always a good reminder to everyone!
Thank you so much for sharing!
You are awesome :)

Firstly, thanks for the pick... I appreciate it... It's weird to receive this guy for CTPTalk, as I was doing it... lol...

This is a bit tricky... Sometimes, the truth can be hard to accept, and we tend to ignore it if we don't like it... So, it's a great thing to get the "straight" feedback, the other thing is to accept it and try to work on it... Actually, that's the hardest thing... :)

I'm already used to the pain from both sides, either not telling me anything and even turn others against me instead, again, to communicate, or having straight feedback! Still, prefer the second one, because I can "control" the pain, like you said, to accept and work on it or not, if that makes sense lol

I had the same strange feeling but at the same time, I believe it is a good way to finish the weekend and before the break with you as the highlight for being awesome doing this all this time :)

I salute you for the patience and hard work! Only got a taste of it this weekend and sometimes is not easy! But I enjoyed it!

Thank you!

First I totally agree with you about these kind of bad strategies that some businesses have to give better offers to new customers than to existing ones. I find this so contraproductive. When you are in the shoe of the loyal customer, he just has the feeling that he is not appreciated and that the company is actually exploiting him...

About communication in general, I've had a lot of experience in this respect because my parents divorced when I was already quite old (I was about 16) and I was listening to the problems of each but they couldn't communicate directly. So everything went through me more or less. What I realised often when two parties have a problem together it is because each party expects the other to do or understand something without directly expressing it. This period was a nightmare for me and I fled. I took my own appartment close to my school and started to live alone with 16.

It was a very important experience in my life that taught me a lot of things. About putting limits to protect myself, about taking responsability for myself and also about communication. The only communication that works is the direct one where each party expresses it's expectations and worries. As you said we often postpone such a communication because we fear the response.

In my opinion communication is a very tricky beast. You can do too much, you can do it with the wrong party, you can do too little, you can do it too late and finally, in communication sometimes what we hear is not what the other wants to say... So man it can be challenging ;-)

Huh... You had a rough childhood... It really depends on both parties, and it could be as it was in your case, but there are other kinds of misunderstandings, and unfortunately, they can't be solved without the goodwill of both parties...

Tbh, I had something similar, but 3-4 years later... I have "survived" until my University days when I couldn't stand living under the same roof with my dad... So, I did something similar to you... Rent an apartment, find a job, and at the same time studied...

My parents didn't reach that divorce point, but my sister and I have literally begging our mom to do it... but, that's her life, and she has chosen her way... I didn't understand it then, but I do now... But, I did listen to a whole night's discussions about stupid things that have nothing to do with anything... It was the problem of NOT listening to each other... and not accepting others and their opinion, and maybe even not respect...

Maybe that's why I keep on "preaching" respect and appreciation of people here on Hive and in my surroundings... Just a scarf from my childhood...

But, we did get pretty decent people... Aren't we? :D :D

Thanks for sharing your personal story... It's not an easy thing to write (and sometimes to remember) this stuff...

I think we did ;-). I believe that whatever we have lived through, this was the kind of building blocks that forged who we are today. When I look back at my childhood, I think that it was full of lessons, some harder ones, some nicer ones. In the end it all boils down to try to take every experience and to learn from it.
