Camping in Michigan
Here is a camping trip that I took to Michigan near Torch Lake.
The campground is right next to Elk Lake and you can witness amazing sunrises here.
The summer sunsets here are amazing as well.
The campground is private and has nicer showers and power for each campsite compared to state run campsites.
Unfortunately it did end up raining really hard one night and we ended up getting a couple inches of water in the test since our rain fly is so small.
What is nice about this campground is you can easily go swimming whenever you want in the lake nearby.
There are many places to go hiking up there as well.
On the hikes you can find some interesting things randomly. I think this is a mock up outdoor classroom area of sorts.
This campground is only a few miles away from lake Michigan as well and there are dune beaches here.
There are quite a few rivers to go kayaking on as well that branch out to the larger lakes.
We also took time to visit some farms. This is a cherry farm with a fancy herb garden.
You can also pick cherries yourself and they just charge you by the bucket. Nothing like getting them fresh off the tree.
Amazing trip, thanks for sharing!
We've been there a couple times since it's so nice, maybe this fall I can go there to see the leaves change.
Great post. Very nice area with a cherry farm. Sunrise and sunset are breathtaking. About the rain, you can't have everything perfect. 🙂
Yeah it rained really badly just one day but there was a town Traverse City nearby to wait it out at. We even found a random insect house full of butterflies to look at in the meantime.

Looks like another winner spot in Michigan - someday I'll get there

nice...and Traverse City still has quite a few microbreweries yet, right? I want to say I remember Jolly Pumpkin being near there a few years back
I have no idea about the microbreweries since I'm completely nonalcoholic lol. But the city has some decent food joints there compared to the boonies of the upper peninsula.
Nice...yeah I remember Traverse being somewhat touristy; at least it was a few years back. That would be good selling point for my wife, lol
There is an amazing restaurant called the pearl that serves cajun food, its a nice treat after eating camping food for a while.

Really beautiful sunrise!
I want such a cherry!
I ate way too many while picking.
I really like the sunshine on the beach, it's really amazing.
It is really nice during the summer, in the winter it is completely frozen over.
yeah.
Amazing sunset ☀️🥰
Nice place to camp ... you can see you enjoyed it🤗
Yeah and they even have power posts there to charge your electronics to take pictures of the sunsets lol.
Hahaha ..... Wonders of the modern age ....😉
