Welcome back to my blog This time I will discuss again about the outdoor activities that I have participated in. The place is very interesting, that is, I had the opportunity to take part in this activity right in the Gunung Leuser National Park (TNGL) area.

Leuser Mountain Conservation Camp. This is the name of an event or event that is followed by all national activists. Whether it comes from elements of society, nature lovers organizations, and students. This activity was held in the Leuser Mountain ecosystem directly in Langkat district, North Sumatra province. As we know, the Leuser area itself consists of two provinces, namely Aceh and North Sumatra. I am one of the lucky people because I was selected as one of the participants of this event. I along with other friends represent Syiah Kuala University. We are all active students in the leading universities in Aceh province today.

This activity was attended by various kinds of nature lover organizations and other elements of the tourism-conscious society. They come from various regions throughout Indonesia including the island of Java and other areas. Yes, it can be said that this event is a national scale. This series of activities was filled with various activities such as education about the Mount Leuser National Park area, introduction to endemic animals that live in the Leuser ecosystem, education on the importance of protecting the Leuser area, and the last one was filled with cross-country activities in the Mount Leuser National Park area. This cross country competition is the activity most awaited by participants. Because we can have the opportunity to immediately try the sensation of crossing the Leuser mountain area. Prior to the commencement of this cross-country activity we will be given directions by the committee as well as instructions on how the scoring system to take the winner.

This activity was also filled with joint tree planting in the Leuser ecosystem. Not only that, we were also entertained by other traditional activities such as derah songs and traditional musical instruments that were deliberately played in front of the nature activists. In this event, we not only know how the Leuser ecosystem is. But we can also add insight and relationships to other friends who are both engaged in nature activists. There we also discussed and exchanged ideas on how we should work together to protect the Leuser ecosystem from all forms of threats. This activity is a real action by nature activists to protect the Leuser ecosystem, which is beginning to be threatened from all threats.

And in every competition activity we are sure to always wait for the winner. Yes, at this nature conservation camp activity event we managed to become champions in this cross country competition. No half-hearted we brought two teams for this cross-country activity. And both of them became winners. In team A, including myself, I was in the order of expectation 1 and in team B managed to win 3rd place in this category. Thanks to these two titles, we brought home two trophies for the province of Aceh. The cross country competition scoring system is not the fastest but the knowledge, team cohesiveness, and equipment that is brought during this cross country activity are included in the scoring category. I think the winning trophy is not everything, but the most valuable lesson I learned was more knowledge about the Leuser ecosystem area and being able to add relationships with other nature activists. I feel very proud to be able to participate in this activity because this is a concrete form of action by nature activists to protect the Leuser ecosystem. And I also hope that this activity will continue to be carried out and developed every year because it can educate and make people aware of the importance of protecting the Leuser ecosystem area.

I managed to capture these moments while in the Mount Leuser National Park area with other nature activists. This event was held by Gunung Leuser National Park (TNGL) on 26-27 October 2019.
