Laut Tawar - The source of life for the Gayo community

Laut Tawar, there is a name of a lake which is located in one of the districts of Aceh province. This lake is very special because it is located in the highlands of the Gayo land with an altitude of 1230 masl. Why is this lake called partly the source of community life. Yes, because this lake is very beneficial for the Gayo people, especially around the lake, because part of their time every day is spent in the lake. The people there become the lake as a source of economic livelihood for the community, both as fishermen and as potential ecotourism from the lake.

Not just fishing, other people also use the lake as a source of their daily water. Because there is no doubt that the water in this lake is very clear and cool. In addition, Gayo, which is very famous for its coffee, makes people combine these two components, combined with coffee and lakes, in a way that tourists can enjoy Gayo coffee right on the edge of the lake, so these two components really help the community's economy. Besides tourists can enjoy coffee. The view of the lake is equally interesting, especially when the sun rises from the east of the lake, this is the right place to witness this incident. And tourists don't have to worry about the problem of lodging, there are many hotels or guesthouses lined up beside the lake for tourists who support seeing the sunrise in the early morning without having to be cold outside the room. This lake is the right choice for those of you who love the outdoors because here we can still see the extraordinary balance of the ecosystem. Because the Gayo people really care for this lake because they are aware that this lake is the main source of their life.
