Lakers Defeat Rockets with Masterful Performances by Luka Doncic and LeBron James (English/Spanish)

Now that the World Baseball Classic has come to a close—and I’ve had the joy of seeing my country, Venezuela, triumph in baseball’s premier event—I’m turning my attention back to my specialty: basketball. More specifically, I’ll be focusing on what I believe to be the most significant developments in the NBA and FIBA basketball.
Yesterday, in a game I thoroughly enjoyed, the Los Angeles Lakers extended their winning streak to seven consecutive victories after defeating the Houston Rockets at the Toyota Center, which witnessed a display of offensive efficiency.

Luka Doncic came close to recording a legendary triple-double with 40 points, 9 rebounds, and 10 assists. He was the driving force that kept the Lakers ahead when Houston was pressing.
LeBron James: At 41, he continues to defy logic. He scored 30 points, shooting 13-for-14 from the field. With this game, he is just one game away from tying Robert Parish’s all-time NBA record for most games played (1,611).

The game was a roller coaster. The Lakers dominated the first half, building a 13-point lead, but the Rockets, led by an immense Alperen Sengun—who would finish with 27 points and 10 assists—and Amen Thompson—with 26 points and 11 rebounds—staged a comeback in the third quarter to take a 6-point lead.
In the final minutes, the Lakers asserted their dominance as Rui Hachimura and Doncic hit back-to-back three-pointers to regain the lead. An alley-oop play from Luka to LeBron sealed the game with 90 seconds remaining.

The Lakers’ defense shut down Kevin Durant, who was quiet in the first half but finished with 18 points.
With this win, the Lakers solidify their hold on 3rd place in the Western Conference (44-25), while Houston drops to 5th place, feeling the pressure from Minnesota.

That Luka is an animal.
Doesn't look like he should be that good but he just has it naturally.
Hi, yeah, it’s true that Luka doesn’t look very athletic or like a tough guy, but he’s actually incredibly talented—as you said, it comes naturally to him. Playing in the NBA has made him better and better. In fact, a relative of mine mentioned exactly what you just said the day we were watching the game. I’m actually already working on the next article about what he did in yesterday’s game.
I also have to say, @niallon11, thanks for the support on every one of my posts since I started on #sportsblock, and hopefully the curation will keep growing so we can get more support, because I think sports posts deserve it, especially when they’re well done.
You are more than welcome.
We are trying to build a community here and part of that is supporting all of the active members that are helping to build it.
We want to grow our HP even higher and do more especially while the group is quite small and it's easy to get around to everybody.
Sports has the potential to be a huge product so the more the better.
Awesome, bro. I'll be joining you guys on this project because I'm really passionate about sports, and it'll be great to be part of the early days of #sportsblock
