Vegan Mosquito?

Mosquitoes are everywhere and they are notorious for biting and sucking blood. However, I found mosquitoes in our room weird. Instead of biting us, they seem to feast on foods.

Last time, I found one on top of a cake. It was stuck there and can't pull its proboscis or needle from the fondant. There were also several times when I saw a mosquito on a slice of cucumber.

I remember someone told me that male mosquitoes do not bite, only females. Does this mean, the ones here in the room are males and the ones outside near are females. But still it's amusing to see a mosquito biting foods instead of humans.

This one right here is a mashed squash. My mother called me to see it and my weird mind immediately concluded they are vegan. Lol. Anyway, don't mind it. And we throw the part where the mosquito landed. I am just sharing it here just in case anybody wants to see a mosquito sucking a squash. 😆
