The lord will perfect you!
As human beings, we are imperfect in our natural self and this is due to the sin that dwells in our mortal bodies. Remember at the genesis of all things, mankind fall from the grace of God. Man was originally created perfectly by God and was in a perfect state by then before sin came into the picture. Sin separated us from our God; as a result man lost the consciousness of who he is. In other words he became imperfect and limited in all he does.
The lord will perfect that which concerns me: Psalms 138:8
Upon Mount Zion, is the perfection of the beauty Psalms 50:2
After realizing the weak state we are in. There is a need for us to run to God and allow him to perfect us. As you see in the scriptures above, the bible informs us that there is hope and need for us to be perfected. Perfection is demanded of us by God.
Be perfect, therefore as your heavenly father is perfect. Mathew 5:48
This is purely the lord’s doing. We cannot perfect ourselves. As co-workers we can rather collaborate with him through a total surrender of our lives to his discipline. Trials and the various forms of sufferings in our faith provide God the opportunity to deal with us. Call that “the process of perfection.” Remember God wants genuine faith and our faith must be tried to be proven genuine so that we be perfect in him.
The process of perfection is not a pleasant one, it’s painful and very discomforting due to the fact that it includes the dying to self. One thing about us is that we love ourselves and we will always want to dwell in comfortable zones. It takes the love for God a man has to come out of the comfort zones and seek God through fasting, prayer, worshiping, preaching and loving others.
There is no fear in love but perfect love drives out fear 1John 4:18
Fear is bondage and a serious set-back in this walk of salvation. Some people fear to take risks in business due to the fear of making losses, others fear to fail and therefore end up missing opportunities.
When we allow the perfect love of God to be worked in us, we then get liberated from all our fears. We begin to walk confidently with our heads high with an assurance that the one in us is greater than he that is in the world. We become very fruitful and nothing can be able to stop us from progressing in this life.
Let’s pray
Father in the mighty name of Jesus, you perfect everything that concerns me. Make me that perfect kind of person you designed me to be. I surrender to the process of perfection. I declare that I am walking in your perfection from today forth in Jesus’ name.
